The latest season of Clockmaker is now live, and it’s introducing Japanese culture to the popular match-three puzzler – for some all-new stages, exclusive rewards, and a whole new chapter of story content. If you are unaware, Clockmaker is a casual puzzle game for PCs and mobile devices set in the Victorian hamlet of Clocksville.
Match colored gems in groups of three and break the curse of Clocksville
Your goal in the game is to alleviate the curse placed upon the Clockmaker. How? By solving match-three puzzles. Your objective is to match the colored gems in each stage’s grid in groups of three or more by matching them according to color. If you match three, they vanish. If you match more than three, they leave a booster behind them, allowing you to clear gems faster.
These boosters can also be obtained through in-game purchases or as quest rewards. Similar to every other match-three puzzler, this is how Clockmaker works. The thing that sets Clockmaker apart is its story. Clocksville is not a typical Victorian town centered around a clock. It’s a cursed clock-based Victorian town, and the only way to lift the curse is to solve puzzles.
Collect Gems before time runs out and save the cursed Japanese town
This new season of Clockmaker begins with Emma chasing a cat through a portal and winding up in a Japanese town. And if that wasn’t strange enough, the Clockmaker has also cursed this town. Emma encounters a developer named Riguro upon her arrival in this cursed town, whose game has somehow blended into reality. Guess what. Riguro’s game is called Clockmaker. Spooky!
The Japanese season of Clockmaker begins today, ie April 19th with a Shores of the East event, which allows you to earn special tickets to spend on event-exclusive Japan-themed items. On April 22, a few days later, the Gem-Collecting Tournament begins. As its name suggests, this one involves collecting gems in a race with your fellow players to the top of the leaderboard.
Additionally, if you collect enough gems during the event period you’ll earn some special rewards. Finally, the Temporary Japanese Town opens its gates on April 25th. Here, you will solve the enigma of how the Clockmaker’s curse infiltrated the Japanese town and tormented an innocent developer. Clockmaker is currently available for free on both mobile and PC.
