World of Warcraft has officially confirmed that Bran will be the only Delve companion player to enter The war is within. Although the original plan was to add a new character to Delves each season, World of Warcraft will now hold Bran until then North expansion.
Delves are a new type of instance introduced in the The war is within which can be done alone or in groups with an NPC companion. At launch, the companion was Bran Bronzebeard, an extraordinary explorer and the younger brother of Magni and Muradin, although plans were previously announced to swap the companion for a new companion each season of the expansion.

During the interview with WoW content creators The Comeback Kids, World of Warcraft game director Ion Hazikostas confirmed that Bran stayed not only in World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, but everyone has it The war is within. “Great [challenge with changing companions] is that the players have leveled up Bran, they have completely updated and specified him. If you replace it, do we just take it all away?'' Hazikostas was afraid that resetting progress with their companion Delve every season would be bad for the fans, so to avoid this, players will keep Bran as their partner until North.
Bran is Delve's only companion in World of Warcraft: The War Within
Logistically, it makes sense. While adding new Delve companions would add variety, replacing all the hard work players have done to level Brann in a few short months wouldn't feel great. Some fans have suggested keeping both characters or sharing progress between them, but those solutions don't seem to fit Blizzard's idea of how Delve's additional companions will work. This can be frustrating for players, but it seems World of Warcraft will only receive one Delve companion every couple of years for the foreseeable future.

However, patch 11.1 has good news for Delves. Three new instances – two additional Delves and a final Delve boss similar to WoW: The War Within Meet Zewkir in Season 1 – Achievements, rewards, and goblin-themed trivia are coming. Bran will also be able to become a tank, allowing Delve's companion to fill any role.
Exactly how Delve's additional companions will work remains to be seen World of Warcraft: The Northor which characters can accompany players in instances of the expansion. Given that it's set in Cael'thalas, fans could team up with iconic elven explorers like Naleydea Riverglim or Eliza Starseeker. Until then, players can only speculate about how the system will change throughout the Worldsoul Saga and beyond.
