What to expect from Chapters 3 and 4 of Deltarune

Development of Deltaruna it was a bit of a slow burn at the moment. This is thanks to Survive creator Toby Fox decided to release the game in several chapters, rather than all at once. In Toby Fox's recent Twitter post, he stated that he is “working on Ch5 every day.” If the development of Chapter 5 is going smoothly, it can be assumed that the development of Chapters 3 and 4 is nearing completion. Toby Fox confirmed this, having previously stated that Chapter 3's quality testing is in its final stages.

It's certainly an exciting update, but it's already left many fans wondering when they'll be able to hear more news. Fortunately, in the last post of his thread, Toby Fox happened to announce that he plans to release the next newsletter at the end of December this year. Given the nature of the Shadow Drop in the last two chapters, Chapter 3 may be released closer to the time of this newsletter.

However, the general absence of the main antagonist remains a mystery, and that's perhaps the biggest thing fans can look forward to in Deltaruna Section 4.

While Chapter 3 should play to the strengths of its predecessors, Chapter 4 will likely take a big turn. Considering Deltaruna will span seven chapters, players will be pretty deep into the story by the time Chapter 4 is released. While Chapter 3 may wrap up the beginning of the game, Chapter 4 will likely set the stage for Deltarunathe ultimate end.

Deltaruna has kept many secrets until now, but the mystery is certainly a huge part of the appeal. Chapter 2 left players with more questions than answers, so there's no telling that Chapters 3 and 4 won't be the same. However, if Chapter 5 is indeed as close as Toby Fox has suggested, then players can expect the story to take a clear shape sooner rather than later.
