Kojima Productions and 505 Games shocked everyone earlier this month when they revealed and simultaneously released an Xbox Series X/S port Death Stranding: The Director's Cut. Death Stranding also got 50% off Xbox after launch which was even more amazing. The game normally costs $40 on Microsoft's platform, but now Xbox players can grab it for just $20.
Death Stranding the IP originally belonged to PlayStation; the game was financed, published and produced by the console manufacturer itself. However, it was still able to be released on the Xbox console because KojiPro recently acquired the rights Death Stranding by Sony Interactive Entertainment. While nothing has been confirmed, this unexpected multi-platform spin-off from Kojima Productions could suggest that some of his other titles, such as the upcoming Xbox game ODalso coming to more consoles in the future.

Why Kojima's OD game might be less divisive than Death Stranding
Kojima's upcoming horror game OD may be more attuned to the divisive weirdness that came with its unique action title Death Stranding.
The release of Death Stranding on Xbox makes an OD port to PlayStation more likely
OD is Hideo Kojima's first collaboration with Xbox Game Studios
Hideo Kojima has often collaborated with PlayStation for most of his career, but for the first time ever, he's working on a project with Xbox instead. One of the upcoming games Kojima Productions is working on is called ODand is published by Xbox Game Studios. While Kojima's partnership with the first publisher was originally announced in 2022, OD itself was only officially revealed at The Game Awards 2023.
Little is known about it OD for now, but Kojima Productions has revealed that it's some sort of horror game and that it will feature an all-star cast. It is not at all clear what ODThe gameplay will be the same, but the leaked footage from 2022 does suggest that it will be in both first and third person.
According to Kojima,
OD
will use Xbox's cloud gaming technology in some unspecified way to create a “unique” and “completely new style of gaming — or rather, a new form of media.”
OD may be an Xbox exclusive at launch, but it's likely to come to PlayStation at some point
Microsoft and Kojima Productions have yet to say which platforms OD will be included, but it's believed to be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC, at least for a limited time. It's possible, if not likely, that the game will come to rival consoles in the future. In the past few months, Microsoft has expressed its intention to bring its first-person exclusives to non-Xbox platforms, specifically the PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Four of the company's games have already moved to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles, with more on the way. With that in mind, it wouldn't be that surprising if Microsoft decided to bring one OD on PS5 shortly after its debut on Xbox and PC.

two Microsoft-developed games will also be coming to PS5 in 2025.
Even with Microsoft still staunchly defending Xbox exclusivity, OD could have appeared on PlayStation consoles regardless. The fact that Death Stranding being on the Xbox despite Sony's heavy involvement in the game is proof of that. All in all, it seems that Kojima wants to bring his games to as many platforms as possible. Also, if Kojima Productions owns the rights to OD IP as it happens with Death Strandingthen there is an even greater chance of the game coming to PlayStation 5.
