Veilguard player fixes rook not hanging out with companions

Summary

  • Mod for Dragon Age: The Veilguard adds comments from the Hand to codex entries about gang book club meetings.

  • Comments vary depending on Luddy's background.

  • This comes after fans complained that Rook felt left out of the Veilguard team.

A common complaint leveled at Dragon Age: The Veilguard is that Rook doesn't feel like a core member of the group. Sure, we're their leader and we solve all their problems, but it seems like the titular Veilguards prefer to hang out with each other, except for our character.

We now have a mod that fixes this. Rook Joins Book Club by Nexus Mods user ziraelxx does exactly what it says on the tin, allowing our hero to participate in the regular book club meetings our team hosts. It works by editing the codex records we get of these encounters, changing the wording to make it clear that the Rook was there.

Dragon Age: Veilguard mod allows Ruk to join the book club

Wording in the book club code varies by origin

Book club meetings never meet, but we learn about them from codex records. These entries include notes about the book the group was reading, as well as some thoughts on what each participant thought about the story.

Some comments from Rook are included with the mod. To try to preserve the character of our particular rook, each background receives unique comments. For example, if you're a Gray Warden, you'll say that the portrayal of your order was inaccurate in one of the books you read, but you “refused to clarify” how – a nod to how the Wardens are supposed to act by being secretive. Crow Crow, on the other hand, will be pleased that one of the books understands the difference between a killer and a murderer.

This isn't the only mod that makes Dragon Age: The Veilguard more personalized. As we mentioned before, another mod allows you to (sort of) import your Ferelden Hero by adding his name to the Unification Chalice found in Weissgaupt. This mod has an option for each of the backgrounds so that your Overseer's name can be reset at least once per game.
