Fans have a lot of excuses Remainders 2 be excited about the third and final promised DLC content with The Dark Horizon expansion, but few live up to the hype surrounding the introduction of a new Warden Archetype. As a powerful addition to Remainders 2An existing meta, Warden gives both new and new players more survivability in the early and mid game, allowing them to be more effective in solo play thanks to a toolkit that includes a drone with three different modes: fight, heal, and shield. For anyone who might be a lapsed player, Warden is a good reason to dive back in Remainders 2.
In a recent chat with Game Rant to discuss the design process behind the Warden and other Archetypes, Remainders 2The lead designers talked about the reasons why players might want to use a new character with Warden after picking up The Dark Horizon. A strong support class that is more than capable of holding its own in a fight, the Warden is a flexible option with plenty of useful features that proves to be just as viable in solo play as it is in co-op as part of a team.
The designers of Remnant 2 destroy what makes the Warden a great archetype
One of the main strengths of the Warden Archetype is its intentional synergy with all other existing archetypes in Remainders 2. As another class based on N'Erud's lore, the Warden pairs particularly well with the Engineer, but that doesn't mean other team compositions shouldn't include the Warden in their ranks. Lead Gameplay Designer Ben Cureton notes that the introduction of the Warden should be a great class that works with everything that already exists in Remainders 2 goal.
“We thought, what with this, let's make sure that every drone can provide something for every build within reason.”
To that end, the Warden makes for an incredibly strong starter class that's great for new players, but is also a great option for returning players who are interested in hiring a new character to test out all the changes and updates that come with The Dark Horizon story content. Cureton reiterates that the Varden's power and versatility was a deliberate design choice to help support the changes taking place in Remainders 2.
“I think it will give a huge bonus or benefit to the returning players. It's going to be a different launch experience, right?
You'll feel a little more powerful early on, and then hopefully it'll even out, but overall it's a pretty strong class because it's so versatile. Then we have things like Prisms, but that's not directly related to the Overseer.'
The new Prism system at Remainders 2 designed as a way to make the endgame progression more exciting and varied. With the introduction of the Warden Archetype, it becomes clear that new updates are coming Remainders 2 is meant to deliver more of what fans already love about the title and its powerful fantasy. As senior designer Steve Bednartz points out, “Worden in particular will fit well with anything where people are trying to be more tanky or have more survivability.”
