Key conclusions
- The birthplace of the characters in One Piece greatly affects their strength and knowledge.
- Inuarashi and Nekamamushi, the former mink rulers, are formidable fighters with Elektra and Sulong.
- Shirahoshi, an ancient weapon, can control the Sea Kings.
Eiichiro Oda paid a lot of attention to the world One Piecethat's why everything is explained in such detail. The author even provided sketches and details about the geography of One Piece.
The series, which mainly focuses on pirates and marines, has many different islands and seas. Being born on a certain island can greatly affect a character's life. For example, characters born in East Blue are comparatively weaker than, say, those born in North Blue. Naturally, people born somewhere in the New World are more knowledgeable and have a better understanding of how things work.
The list includes characters who are either implied to be from the New World, or are clearly indicated by Oda to be of New World origin.
6 Inuarashi Nekamamushi
The strongest minks
- Own electricity
- Sulong can be used
Inuarashi and Nekamamusi are the two former rulers of the Duchy of Makoma. They had sailed with Roger and Whitebeard in the past, which gave them invaluable experience. Like Minky, both have the innate ability to use electricity.
Both Inuarashi and Nekamamushi were strong enough to fight Jack, who was a member of the Beasts Pirates All-Star. Inurashi and Nekamamushi don't have Devil Fruits, but they do have access to Sulong's transformation. Sulong forms enhance their attacking capabilities, making them dangerous. If they could use Sulong at any time, it would be a huge advantage, so Oda imposed a restriction. Therefore, mink can only turn into a full moon.
5 Kazuki Oden
Daimyo of Kura
- Possessed all three types of Haki
- Mainly used Oden's dual sword style during combat
Kozuki Oden was the daimyo of Kura and next in line to become Shogun of Wano. However, Auden was not interested in governing. All he wanted was freedom and to sail the open waters. Auden traveled with Whitebeard's Pirates and Roger's Pirates.
During his adventures, Oden fought many famous characters, which improved his skills. When Oden returned to Wano, he was able to injure Kaido with no problem. The latter would have died if Oden hadn't been pulled away by a member of the Kurozumi clan. Since Auden met his end quote early, it's impossible to say how much stronger he would have been had he survived.
4 Rheum
God of the sword
- The greatest swordsman of his time
- Owned the legendary Syusui
Ryuma was born in Wano many years before the current timeline. He was the greatest swordsman of his time and his skill was second to none. In the end, he was given the title of God of the Sword, showing how far he surpassed the competition of his time. Ryuma has many achievements, the biggest of which is beheading a huge dragon.
Ryuma didn't need many hits to defeat the monster. It only took one clean cut to decapitate the dragon. Ryūma was also known as the protector of Wano as he protected the country from pirates, marines and any other outside forces. As a result, he was considered a hero, and his beloved Syusui was included among the national treasures of Wano.
3 Sirachosi
It is one of the ancient types of weapons
- Can rule sea kings
- Could potentially destroy the world
Sirahoshi is the daughter of King Neptune and Queen Otahime. A giant mermaid princess was born on Fishman Island, which is located on the edge of the New World. Her gigantic size can make people think that she is dangerous and threatening. However, she is the complete opposite. Sirohose is a good person and does not take undue advantage of her status and power.
While her size is enough to intimidate most people, what truly frightens her is her innate ability to command sea kings. Shirahoshi is Poseidon, one of the three ancient weapons, so she has the right to command the sea kings. She has yet to fully master it, but no doubt she will in the future. If she does, Shirahoshi will be possibly the most dangerous character in One Piece.
2 Black beard
Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates
- Possesses two Devil Fruits
- Two types of hacks can be used
Blackbeard was born on an unnamed winter island, probably somewhere in the New World. Whitebeard found him in a pitiable state and, feeling ill, decided to take him on board. Blackbeard sailed with the Whitebeard pirates even in his old age. He waited for the right moment to leave the crew and it came when Thatch found Yami Yami no Mi.
Blackbeard wanted the Devil Fruit the most, so he killed Thatch and left. Blackbeard ate the Yami Yami no Mi and got the Gura Gura no Mi in the Marineford arc. With two powers at his disposal, Blackbeard rose to the rank of Yonko and was officially recognized as one of the strongest characters in the world.
1 Whitebeard
The strongest man in the world
- Had Gura Gura not Mi
- Mastered all three types of Haki
Whitebeard was the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates. He formed the team after defeating the Rox Pirates in the Valley of God. Whitebeard was born on Sphinx Island, which is located somewhere in the New World. The inhabitants of Sphinx Island lived a terrible life, so Whitebeard was always ready for any problem.
Whitebeard grew up to become one of the greatest pirates in the history of the world. At one point, he ate the Gura Gura no Mi, a devil fruit said to have enough power to destroy the world. He gave the audience a glimpse of his power in the Marineford Arc, where he nearly sank the Marine HQ. Not only did he master his Devil Fruit, but he also had excellent Haki control.
