The future of Hello The series is sharper than it has been in a long time, and while that's good news in some ways, it's also bittersweet. A recent press release on Halo Waypoint did more than just reveal that Hello will be switching to the Unreal Engine, but that developer 343 Industries will henceforth be called Halo Studios – a seemingly solid indication of the company's commitment to the franchise.
343 Industries was in charge Hello since Bungie abandoned ship after release Halo Reach— a game that many fans still consider one of the best in the series. Bungie can be credited with kicking Hello invented his revolutionary shooting mechanics and wrote an exciting sci-fi story but Fate the developer has effectively been removed from the franchise for over a decade now. While it would be great to say that 343 has managed to preserve or even improve on the legacy Bungie has cemented, that's simply not the case; 343 Industries has proven to be full of talented developers and artists, but for whatever reason it's hard to keep Hello tell in a meaningful way that makes many long-time fans feel this way Hellothe glory days are behind us.

343 Industries is a good developer, but maybe not for Halo
One of the main reasons why 343 st Hello the stories didn't stick landing has little to do with the studio's talent pool or creative vision. If Halo 3 was released, it was supposed to be the final chapter in Master Chief's story, more or less closing the book on him and Cortana's saga. Bungie's next two games, Halo 3: ODST and Halo Reachwere a spin-off and a prequel, respectively, which is a big reason why they still work in terms of storytelling. But 343 was faced with the monumental task of reviving the Master Chief story—it was too popular to abandon entirely.
While 343 has yet to emerge from Bungie's shadow, it has demonstrated a number of strengths as a developer. for example Halo 4the story, while not perfect, made some interesting choices that were mostly well received, and Halo InfiniteThe shooting is arguably the best in the entire series – surpassing even the games developed by Bungie. The art design, character animation, and overall production value were also consistently strong across all 343 Hello games, reinforcing the studio as a focus on quality. These strengths suggest that even though 343 Industries may not be the right fit for Hellohe could do a great job if he freed himself from his controversial heritage.
“Halo Studios” is the final nail in the coffin for the hope of a 343 branching
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like audiences will get to see what Team 343 can do outside Hello license, at least not anytime soon. “343 Industries” could be a reference to the character 343 Guilty Spark, but it's certainly not that obvious Hello-refers to “Halo Studios”, a name that associates the developer with Hello franchise, and Hello the franchise is one.
Perhaps the newly christened Halo Studios will do great things with Hello series. Future features like Halo InfiniteThe third-person mode proves that the company isn't afraid to experiment, even if it's a feature that few actually ask for, as well as the aforementioned strengths of 343-led Hello games should give at least some hope for the future. But still, it's a shame to learn that 343 Industries will likely never commit its considerable talents to anything other than Hellodespite the missed potential it represents.
