As Vegapunk's announcement recently ended, the Strawhats are now heading to Elbaf, and the Final Saga is sure to take a major turn pretty soon. Elbaf will be an arc similar to Vano itself in terms of magnitude and possibly also in terms of length. Fans are excited to see Oda fight Elbaf, but with this arc, the series will take another step closer to the end.

After all, One Piece is in the Final Saga and there aren't many islands left for the Straw Hats to explore. It's entirely possible that Elbaf will be their last major adventure before Luffy takes over One Pieceand that in itself is a pretty damning statement.

Oda himself was waiting to end the series properly and take a well-deserved rest. Meanwhile, fans are caught in a predicament where they certainly agree that Oda deserves a break, but at the same time, they don't want this beautiful journey to ever end.

After all, similar cases were witnessed with the most popular series in Jump. Naruto continued through Boruto, and Dragon Ball is essentially immortalized even after Akira Toriyama's death. However, the situation with One Piece may be completely different. While One Piece has a lot of potential to continue even after Luffy's journey ends, Oda himself has stated that no amount of pressure from the Jump editors will make him continue One Piece if he doesn't want to. One Piece is a major source of revenue for Jump, and in 2019 Shonen Jump editor-in-chief Nakano made it clear that he wanted One Piece to last forever for Shueisha, similar to how some other series have lasted for years. One Piece will finally come to a conclusion sooner rather than later, and fans know that Luffy's journey will eventually come to an end. But the end of Luffy's journey doesn't necessarily mean that One Piece can't continue. There is potential for the series to continue in some form, such as through a spin-off manga. Oda himself stated that One Piece could potentially continue through spin-offs. Although the statement was not clear, Oda said that in the future he would like to write spin-offs about characters like Garp, where he would talk about his relationship with marines such as admirals in including Sakazuki, and at the same time, he would also like to write a side story about the Dragon, Luffy's own father. According to Oda, the story of the leader of the revolutionary army would be very exciting and would bring joy to fans around the world.

This could potentially be the future One Piece after completing the series. World One Piece so vast that Oda can write countless extras if he has the time. This does not guarantee that Oda will have the time off he needs and spend as much time with his family as he wants. But every once in a while, Oda can potentially pull off a one-shot that adds a lot of depth to the story and gives fans exciting content about their favorite characters.

Fans who are worried they won't get them One Piece content after the journey ends, it would be nice to know that Oda will continue the series in some form.
