  • Oda plans to end One Piece on his own terms without succumbing to pressure from the Jump editors.
  • The spin-off manga may continue the One Piece world after Luffy's journey ends.

One Piece has already entered the final saga, and fans are eagerly awaiting Elbaf's further progress. This is a saga that Oda has always been very excited to draw, and while it will certainly give fans the biggest moments in the entire series, it will also push the series incredibly close to the end.

Akainu is a very powerful marine in One Piece. He can even be on the same level as Yonka.

As the last saga ends, One Piece will finish the serialization and the story will eventually come to an end. This is something that many fans are already worried about One Piece has been a major part of their lives for decades. However, the end of c One Piece may not be permanent, and Oda may have a lot of big plans for the series even after she's done with Jump.

One Piece enters the final saga after Wano Country

  • Egghead was the beginning of the final saga of One Piece
  • The plot thickens with Elbaf

The Wano Country arc was incredibly important to For One Piece, in more ways than one. This particular story not only pushed Luffy one step closer to the great treasure he had been searching for since the beginning, but also made him one of the Four Sea Emperors. Moreover, Oda himself has stated in the past that once the Wano arc ends, the final picture of the One Piece series will finally begin to emerge. Right after One Piece wrapped up the Wano Country arc, Oda announced the start of the Final Saga and even took a big break from it.

One Piece entered the final saga with the start of the Egghead Island arc, and the story recently made its way into the manga. It's safe to say that Egghead was absolutely sensational from start to finish and produced the best stuff yet in the Final Saga. As Vegapunk's announcement recently ended, the Strawhats are now heading to Elbaf, and the Final Saga is sure to take a major turn pretty soon. Elbaf will be an arc similar to Vano itself in terms of magnitude and possibly also in terms of length. Fans are excited to see Oda fight Elbaf, but with this arc, the series will take another step closer to the end.

After all, One Piece is in the Final Saga and there aren't many islands left for the Straw Hats to explore. It's entirely possible that Elbaf will be their last major adventure before Luffy takes over One Pieceand that in itself is a pretty damning statement.

Oda's plan is to end One Piece on his own terms

Oda doesn't plan on bowing to pressure from the Jump editors

When talking about One Piece now the ending is almost ambiguously part of the conversation. It's just because One Piece takes on the last few arcs before Luffy becomes the Pirate King and the Great War with the World Government begins. Although One Piece may still be around 4-5 years away from release, fans need to remember that it will likely be over soon. Oda himself was waiting to end the series properly and take a well-deserved rest. Meanwhile, fans are caught in a predicament where they certainly agree that Oda deserves a break, but at the same time, they don't want this beautiful journey to ever end.

The strongest haki user of the current era is Oda. That's what Oda said.

After all, similar cases were witnessed with the most popular series in Jump. Naruto continued through Boruto, and Dragon Ball is essentially immortalized even after Akira Toriyama's death. However, the situation with One Piece may be completely different. While One Piece has a lot of potential to continue even after Luffy's journey ends, Oda himself has stated that no amount of pressure from the Jump editors will make him continue One Piece if he doesn't want to. One Piece is a major source of revenue for Jump, and in 2019 Shonen Jump editor-in-chief Nakano made it clear that he wanted One Piece to last forever for Shueisha, similar to how some other series have lasted for years. Here's what Oda said about it.

I will finish One Piece when the time comes, no matter how much Shuyesha begged me to extend the series. It all depends on my own decision. – Ode

According to Oda himself, he doesn't want the series to continue after he finds Luffy One Piece and his adventure eventually ends. It was time for Oda to put down her pen and spend time with her family. Considering how much time One Piece has taken up in Oda's life, he probably won't be writing manga in the future either. However, that certainly doesn't mean that One Piece won't continue in some form or another.

Oda plans to write additional manga

Monkey D. The dragon from One Piece

One Piece will finally come to a conclusion sooner rather than later, and fans know that Luffy's journey will eventually come to an end. But the end of Luffy's journey doesn't necessarily mean that One Piece can't continue. There is potential for the series to continue in some form, such as through a spin-off manga. Oda himself stated that One Piece could potentially continue through spin-offs. Although the statement was not clear, Oda said that in the future he would like to write spin-offs about characters like Garp, where he would talk about his relationship with marines such as admirals in including Sakazuki, and at the same time, he would also like to write a side story about the Dragon, Luffy's own father. According to Oda, the story of the leader of the revolutionary army would be very exciting and would bring joy to fans around the world.

This could potentially be the future One Piece after completing the series. World One Piece so vast that Oda can write countless extras if he has the time. This does not guarantee that Oda will have the time off he needs and spend as much time with his family as he wants. But every once in a while, Oda can potentially pull off a one-shot that adds a lot of depth to the story and gives fans exciting content about their favorite characters.

Fans who are worried they won't get them One Piece content after the journey ends, it would be nice to know that Oda will continue the series in some form. There is also the possibility that Toei Animation Studio's filler series will continue, much like many other stories have done over the years. Whether Oda will allow this or not remains to be seen. Perhaps Oda could even do some supervisory work on such a project, but at this point only time can tell.
