The Resident Evil series is extensive, featuring some of the best action and horror games ever made.

All this means that in The Resident Evil universeand these individuals below are some of the most famous and recognizable.
8 Alfred Ashford
Alfred's obsession with his sister causes him to close himself off from the outside world
- Released
- February 29, 2000
When Claire breaks out of prison on Rockfort Island in the beginning Veronica's codeshe gradually stumbles upon several documents that begin to paint an eerie picture of Alfred, one of the game's main villains. Alfred had a close, if somewhat troubled, relationship with his sister Alexia, but after she left him to enter cryosleep, Alfred's mind just couldn't accept that the person he loved so much was gone. As a result, he locked himself in his palace and regularly dressed up in Alexia's clothes to pretend she was still there with him.
When Claire first meets Alfred, he seems loud and brash, desperate for Claire to leave him alone while he waves his sniper rifle in the air. He also prefers to talk to Claire via his radio, rarely coming face-to-face with her, which makes him feel even more distant as a person.
7 Jake Mueller
Jake's powers set him apart from everyone else, making him an isolated mercenary
Jake Mueller may be the son of the series' famous Albert Wesker, but he didn't really get a chance to meet his father, who seemed to abandon him at a young age. As a result, Jake was raised by a single mother and forced to use his superhuman abilities to act as a mercenary to collect money, turning him into a withdrawn and rather cold person who always prefers to do things his own way.

The scariest Resident Evil games, ranking
Few game franchises can match the sheer awe and horror displayed in the terrifying Resident Evil games. But which ones were the scariest in the series?
Even when Sherry meets him Resident Evil 6 and eventually begins to help him, Jake seems to be largely dismissive of her, constantly trying to sever ties so he can once again beat people up for money. Another example of Jake's more disinterested personality is the arrival of Chris Redfield and the BSAA Resident Evil 6 — only for Jake to hide in the background to avoid attracting unwanted attention.
6 HANKA
Hunk would rather remain in obscurity than flaunt his legendary status
- Released
- January 25, 2019
- OpenCritic rating
- Powerful
Although Hunk doesn't really get too much screen time throughout the series, he has definitely shown more introvert traits than extroverts. On the one hand, despite being one of the most legendary soldiers in Resident Evil universe, even with the nickname “The Grim Reapers”, HUNK never feels the need to brag about it or even mention it, instead hiding in obscurity, leaving others to talk about his incredible feats.
Considering that most of HUNK's missions end with him being the only one who makes it out alive, it makes perfect sense why he's become such a withdrawn person, as he probably feels like he can only rely on himself. He also never leaves the house without his signature gas mask, which he wears to keep his true identity a secret, ensuring fans don't ask for his autograph.
5 Lucas Baker
Lucas tries to distance himself from Evelyn's new family
- Released
- January 24, 2017
- OpenCritic rating
- Powerful
This is clear from the beginning Resident Evil 7 that something is wrong with Lucas. Unlike the rest of the Baker family, he doesn't seem very inclined to spend time with his parents, preferring to hide out in his own makeshift base of operations, which Ethan moves around shortly after leaving the estate.
The truth is that although Lucas is infected just like his family, he is not under Evelyn's influence, which explains why he will feel so out of place since he doesn't sign up to be a member of the “nova” of Evie's family. The files found in Lucas' room also explain that he was severely bullied as a child, causing him to withdraw from others for most of his life for fear of being rejected again.
4 Maro
Mora's only concern in life is to prepare experiments on his swamp to please his mother Miranda
- OpenCritic
- Top Critic Rating:84/100 Critics recommend:92%
- Released
- May 7, 2021
- OpenCritic rating
- Powerful
In stark contrast to his fellow Lords Dimitrescu and Heisenberg, who always make a scene whenever they appear on screen, Maraud is a shy, passive and ultimately very isolated member of Mother Miranda's team in Resident Evil Village. Because he's so obsessed with getting validation from his master, Mora hides in his swamp, conducting stupid and convoluted experiments in hopes of one day being noticed by Miranda.

Resident Evil: 8 Best Water Monsters, Ranked
These Resident Evil monsters prefer to hide underwater before suddenly popping out to catch their prey.
Shortly after Ethan enters Mora Swamp, he sees a grotesque creature staring blankly at the TV screen before lashing out at Ethan for violating his personal space. Maro's appearance also suggests that he is much more withdrawn than his allies, especially the long dark rag that can often be seen covering his face before he reveals his true form to Ethan.
3 Ada Wong
Always mysterious, Ada Wong only interacts with others when necessary to complete a mission
- Released
- March 24, 2023
- OpenCritic rating
- Powerful
Ada is not exactly a people's person. In fact, whenever she is seen interacting with others throughout the series, it is usually to use them for her own gain or to gain information from them, rather than simply checking up on them. Ada's loyalty has always been questioned in the series, given that she mostly works for herself and not for any major companies, which explains why she goes on so many solo missions.
As demonstrated in the Separate Ways DLC when she pushes Luis aside, Ada tries to avoid interacting with other people who could end up getting in the way of her mission. Although she still has a close relationship with Leon, she still prefers to keep her distance from him, only appearing when absolutely necessary.
2 Sherry Birkin
A child caught in the middle of an outbreak and abandoned by his parents
- Released
- January 21, 1998
- OpenCritic rating
- Powerful
Sherry appears quite timid and shy when Claire finds her hiding in the RPD station during Resident Evil 2but her introverted nature actually makes a lot of sense given the hardships she's fallen through. As a child thrown into the midst of zombies and abandoned by her own parents, Sherry was forced to fend for herself until she met Claire, who made her run away from anyone who tried to get close.
Admittedly, this works in Sherry's favor at times when she can dodge zombies and Lickers lurking in the shadows, but it can also be irritating for Claire, who has to run after her several times. Being around Leon and Claire, and learning that she can depend on other people, forces Sherry to come out of her shell a bit, though even in resident evil 6, she still seems pretty isolated as a character.
1 Donna Benevento
Benevento uses her doll Angie as a stand-in to hide her true identity
- Released
- May 7, 2021
- OpenCritic rating
- Powerful
Near Benevento's house in the village Resident Evil Villageplayers can find several notes that shed light on Benevento, or more specifically, the woman behind the killer doll hunting Ethan. It turns out that from a very young age, Donna Benevento has always been quiet and reserved, which is why she became obsessed with the art of doll making as a way to occupy herself.
However, once Miranda's mother found the Benevento family, she killed Donna's parents and experimented on them, leaving her even more alone. Eventually, Miranda's mother gave Donna the ability to animate her dolls, prompting her to use them as stand-ins for herself. While Angie's doll may seem like a loud and rather rude enemy to Ethan in the story, it's all a cover for the woman behind the creation, who is simply trying to avoid interacting with others in any way she can.
