Evolved Pokemon are usually some of the most popular inclusions in the Pokemon TCG offering the chance to capture Pokemon in their full glory, with some scenes featuring both evolved and non-evolved forms. Slowking is one of the evolutions of Slowpoke and was introduced in the second generation, making it one of the most valuable Pokemon of the period.
However, despite not being listed as one of the most famous 151 Kanto-derived Pokemon, Slowking has an impressive collection of cards from valuable vintage sets. Despite its age, Slowking remains relevant and continues to receive new cards that can take its place among the most expensive Slowking cards.

6 Slowking (Prime): Undaunted (Ultra Rare) – $19.82
Eat well
Undaunted is sometimes overlooked despite its rarity and collection of fantastic cards like Slowking Prime. The illustration of Slowking with a partially eaten apple glistening in the light is both perfect and somewhat unexpected as this card stands out from other images of this Pokemon.
While the art of this card may be timeless, its value is not as you may have noticed this card ranges from $18 to $22 range, selling according to market conditions with clean examples commanding the highest sums. However, the highest recent sale for this card is $20.
5 Dark Slowking: Neo Destiny First Edition (Rare) – $23.97
Time to laugh or cry?
First edition cards can add up to almost unimaginable amounts, with the best cards from Neo Destiny reaching absurd heights that would seem impossible if you weren't familiar with Pokemon. This quirky Dark Slowking is one of the most valuable cards, but also the most difficult to interpret, as its Slowking interpretation is both amusing and terrifying.
While early edition copies are rare, fortunately this Dark Slowking from Neo Destiny is available in various settings on TCGplayer, with moderately playable (MP) cards from $13. Played lightly (LP) copies can be sold for similar amounts, with a sale of $ 14.35, while almost mint (NM) replicas represent the most desirable end of the market, with some cards cost $28.
4 Dark Slowking: Team Rocket Returns (Reverse Holo) – $24.27
The dark side of the king
Dark Slowking from Team Rocket Returns features much darker art for Slowking, both in terms of lighting and tone, as the Pokemon evokes much more ominous vibes in this map. While Slowking is usually portrayed as a benevolent Pokemon, this evil iteration is somehow even more unpleasant than the Pokemon usually associated with Team Rocket, as Slowking's turn to evil is a terrible betrayal.
Reverse holoversion this card caps around $63 per NM copy, with LPs after those closer to $43. However, the Holo version lags behind its counterpart as the cleanest Holo copies can run around $27.
Holidays with friends
Slowking was lucky enough to be one of the Pokemon chosen to participate in the Southern Isles Promo Pack, which features select Pokemon participating in life scenes with friends. This version captures a magical moment with Psyduck and Bellsprout are next to a happy Slowking.
The value of this card continues to climb, with HP copies selling for around $15, MP cards trading at $18, followed by LP copies at around $19.50, with the biggest jump reserved for NM cards you should expect to pay around $36.
2 Slowking: Aquapolis (Holo Rare) – $80.00
View from the top
Aquapolis is a legendary deck with a staggering list of valuable cards that are some of the hardest to find on TCGplayer, especially in good condition. The Slowking seems intent on taking in the scenery as we watch him peer into a beautiful holographic pattern that's full of shiny sparkles and spots.
Unfortunately, finding a copy of this card can be as difficult as picking a single drop of water from the ocean, as there are only a few recent sales that range from around $33 for cards in HP condition and skyrocket to $91.49, with the LP card installed at that mark.
1 Slowking: Neo Genesis First Edition (Holo Rare) – $81.55
A blast of cosmic perfection
Slowking from Neo Genesis is one of the most recognizable cards from this iconic set, boasting a respectable market price, although it can't compete with Lugia's chase card. The large space to the left of Slowking is ideal for cards from the Cosmos Holo era, as they can have swirls on them.
Whirlwinds
are swirling patterns formed from twinkling stars in a halo.
If you want to own this gorgeous first edition card, you can find it for just $29.99 in HP condition, unless you're interested in a perfect copy. However, LP copies eclipse the HP by a considerable margin, fetching around $90 with some of the cleanest NM copies fetch up to $100.
