Top 8 Bleach Characters Who Never Fight
While Bleach is known mainly for its jaw-dropping fight scenes, these characters stand out from the pack despite never actually fighting.
Thanks to author Tite Kubo's excellent character writing skills, but included lazy characters Bleach can still be fun to watch, whether it's because of their comedic humor or the fact that they wield immense power. In any case, these characters are considered among the laziest in Bleach series.
1 Kyoraku Shunsui
Suigetsu's indifferent nature makes him a pretty bad fighter
- First appearance: Episode 24
At the beginning of Bleach In this story, Kyoraku is introduced as a strong but ultimately very indifferent member of the Gotei 13. When fans first see Kyoraku after Chad confronts him, the captain is lying on the floor, drinking it all for solitude, and even offers a standing adversary right in front of him, drink.
When Chad refuses and launches a flurry of attacks instead of rushing into action, Kyoraku dodges each one like child's play, all while sitting down. As the story progresses, he begins to take on more responsibility, but even when facing deadly threats like Coyote Stark, Kyoraku's laziness still gets the better of him at the worst of times.
2 Yukio Hans Vorarlburne
Yukio can almost always be seen lazing around with his handheld console
- First appearance: Episode 343
It can be easy to forget that Yukio is a member of the Fullbringers considering all he likes to do is hide and play on his handheld console. Whenever the Fullbringers have to do something serious, like when they are tasked with training Ichigo, Riruka has to be the one to push Yukio to participate, which he does only reluctantly.

Bleach: The 7 Biggest Betrayals in the Series, Ranked
These betrayals in the Bleach anime and manga provided some of the biggest plot twists in the series.
As a result, this guy can hardly spend in front of a screen, as it is implied that whenever he is not urgently needed, he is immersed in an intense gaming session. Even when called upon for the final arc, Yukio still rarely takes his eyes off the screen. However, one thing is for sure, whatever game he plays, it must be quite a long one for him to still be playing it so intently.
3 Grammy Tumo
Grammy's imagination means he doesn't have to move a muscle in battle
- First appearance: TYBW Episode 15
Since Grammy's ability, the Visionary, allows him to bring anything he can imagine into reality, he doesn't need to move a muscle when facing an enemy, making him a rather lazy fighter. A prime example of this at the show can be seen in Grammy's duel with the bloodthirsty Squad 11 captain Zaraki Kenpachi.
While Kenpachi throws everything he has at Grammy and is even forced to unleash his bankai, which hits his body hard, Grammy stands still for most of the fight. He even managed to summon a meteor simply by imagining its existence. Fortunately, Grammy was given this unique power, as his lazy nature would definitely not be compatible with any kind of sword fighting.
4 Coyote Stark
Espada number 1 would rather relax and watch the world go by than fight
- First appearance: Episode 138
It's ironic that out of all the Espada, Aizen Stark ranks first in power level, as he's also the most laid back and lazy of the bunch. When Stark is forced to go up against Kyoraku during the Fake Karakura Town arc, he seems less than concerned about the captain in front of him, constantly telling Kyoraku that he'd rather avoid a fight if he can.
The truth is that Stark has such a staggering amount of Spirit Pressure, it meant that any Void that even came close to him would be killed, forcing him to be isolated when he was young. As a result, Stark has become quite used to lazing around and watching the world, despite being one of Aizen's strongest subordinates.
5 Morecio Amaeda
Amaeda's lazy personality often clashes with his serious and stoic captain
- First appearance: Episode 30
Although Amaeda does start to come into his own a bit later in the series, during the first few arcs, he is largely characterized as a burden to his captain Soi Fon due to his lazy nature and obsession with potato chips. Unlike his stoic captain, who is always deadly serious and focused on the mission, Amaeda is a much more carefree spirit who is at ease with the events happening around him.

Those looking for something good to watch while waiting for TYBW to finish should check out some fantastic anime like Bleach.
That's not to say he won't spring into action if necessary, but as Soi Fong well knows, trying to push this guy into doing his duty is no easy task. Fortunately, Cuba does show Amaeda in a much better light during the Millennium Blood War, but then again, it's hard to be so nonchalant when the Quincy army arrives on your doorstep.
6 Giselle Hevelle
Who needs to put in the effort when an army of zombies can do it all for you?
- First appearance: TYBW Episode 15
Giselle's ability, Zombie, allows her to resurrect her friends and enemies to become members of her personal zombie army. As a result, Giselle doesn't actually have to fight herself, instead throwing senseless corpses at the enemy and then chomping on their flesh when injured, as she was shown to do with her late “friend” Bambiet.
Since Giselle can also be cut to pieces without feeling a thing, it means she doesn't have to try as hard in her fights, letting her zombies get her hands dirty for her. This laid-back and laid-back personality helped make Giselle a likeable, if very creepy, member of the Sternritter ranks.
7 Rangiku Matsumoto
Every day at Soul Society is a lazy day for Rangiku
- First appearance: Episode 30
Throughout the history of Bleachthere were many scenes showing what each of the Soul Reapers does on the weekend. For some, like Renji or Hitsugaya, this involves learning from their Zanpakutō, while for Byakuya it might mean filling out paperwork. As for Rangiku, even when she has pressing responsibilities, she's almost always shown plastering around a bar with whoever she can convince to join her.
There were times when she teased her captain Hitsugaya for being too “hardworking”, which often ended with the two fighting each other. Rangiku is another soul reaper who is more than willing to show what she's made of when the situation calls for it, even though she'd rather take a hot bath or drink a few shots of sake instead.
8 Askin Nak Le Var
It takes a lot for Askin to actually start trying when he's in a fight
- First appearance: TYBW Episode 17
Askin may be a high-ranking member of the Schutzstaffel, but that doesn't necessarily mean he always tries his best in battle. In fact, Askin tends to run away from any confrontations that seem to require at least a little bit of energy from him, as shown when he runs away from the Grimmjows, only to later find a nice and peaceful place where he can enjoy a cup of coffee.
Later in the Millennium Blood War, Yoruichi even comments that Askin is purposefully holding back his power and just playing with his loot. If the picnic baskets and coffee machines are anything to go by, Askin prefers to just sit back and enjoy the delicious snacks, which he does for much of the first half of the final arc.
