The planned Ghost of Tsushima anime adaptation may give fans another moment with Jin
Of course, it is unclear if Jin is going to appear in this anime series or not. While the anime is set in the Ghost of Tsushima universe, he specifically uses Ghost of Tsushima: Legends as source material instead of the base game. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends served as the game's main co-op mode, leaving the door open for an anime adaptation to have some leeway in creating the main characters. Since Legends has a maximum party size of four players, perhaps this interpretation will have four protagonists, each taking on roles that players can choose from.

These four classes, from which players can choose, will be a solid base for creating a foursome of exciting heroes. Since the announcement of the anime series, it has been emphasized that the spotlight is on Legendsit seems likely that this will be the route, but it has yet to be confirmed. However, this does not spell doom for those who wish to see Gene one last time. This still gives the show's writers plenty of avenues to feature Jin in some capacity, even if it's a small one. The story of Jin Ghost of Tsushima was a fascinating dive into a complex character, and his legendary status can still be part of the anime.
Ghost of TsushimaThe release of the anime project is planned for 2027.
The Ghost of Tsushima anime is unlikely to push Jin away
Since Jin is the heart Ghost of Tsushimait only makes sense to appear at some point. Whether it's through mentioning him in dialogue or making a full-fledged cameo appearance, it would be weird to leave him out of the anime. A cameo seems very likely, but only time will tell if that's actually the case. Jin's reputation has made him a living legend, and a scenario where an anime hero or heroes cross his path would be a strong reputation for the character, but not overwhelm his story.
The Ghost of Tsushima anime makes way for more new characters
It's understandable why many were shocked and even saddened to see that Jin would not be appearing in the sequel. He was an interesting character, but Ghost of Tsushima and his history have also been satisfactory, which leaves him in a strong position. Rather than Sucker Punch risk ruining such a good story, the studio decided to introduce a new narrative with Yotei's ghost. While it's risky, it might be the best way forward, allowing the franchise to tell multiple stories without long-term care.
Yotei's ghost hasn't revealed a release date yet, but it's expected later this year.
Anime is probably on the way too. Instead of focusing solely on Gina, it could allow for expansion Ghost of Tsushimathe world outside his perspective. It is not yet known how Jin's story will affect the Legends anime, but it can bring a lot of compelling surprises.
