GamesIndustry.biz's Christopher Dring recently shared GSD data from Europe on Twitter, and it shows a surge in sales for many of the titles nominated in various categories of The Game Awards.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was launched in early 2024, but it has seen a staggering 268% week-over-week sales increase, the biggest on this list. Metaphor: ReFantazio took second place with a growth of 172%, from Astro Bot ranks third with sales growth of 61%. Although the Bloober team Silent Hill 2 the remake was snubbed as Game of the Year 2024, but it still grew by 43% and Elden Ring followed with a 38% increase in sales. However, The Game Awards may not have been the only factor behind the spikes, as Dring noted in a follow-up tweet that game sales naturally increase during the holiday season every year.
Despite this, the heightened interest in games nominated for major categories at The Game Awards cannot be underestimated. This was shown by separate data published earlier this week Balatro also saw a significant increase in sales on mobile platforms after accumulating five nominations at The Game Awards 2024.
