8 Yuji/Sukuna vs Palchik

The first death

The bearer of the finger grins menacingly in kaisen jujutsu

  • Manga: Chapter 8
  • Anime: Episode 4

History of Jiu-jutsu Kaisen does not hold back, immediately throwing readers and viewers into the heat of a deadly battle. While the concept of killing off the main character early on and resurrecting him later has been done before JJKthe brutal way it is done in the story at the end of this battle still allows the audience to feel a sense of dread.

The anime format perfectly conveys the dark gray surroundings of the abandoned place where the battle takes place. It also portrays Thimblebear as a creature that moves unnaturally, its every action eschewing an aura of creepiness. Sukuna's smug sense of superiority is also more aptly conveyed in the anime.

7 Yuji/Nanami Vs. Mahito/Junpei

Witness the cursed depravity

Yuuji and Nanami strategize to defeat Mahito in kaisen jujutsu

  • Manga: Chapter 29
  • Anime: Episode 13

Mahita is one of the most memorable villains in the Jiu-jutsu Kaisenand its strong representation is a significant element of its impact. He starts off as incredibly manipulative towards Yoshino Junpei, orchestrating his mother's death and pushing him down a path of darkness and despair.

The battle begins with a brief confrontation between Yuuji and Junpei. The anime does a better job of showing the scale and destruction brought to the school. Junpei's transfiguration is shown in gruesome detail, while Mahito's metamorphoses are more fluid, as is the choreography of his battle against the two wizards.

6 Panda Vs. Mechamaru

Clash of two strangers

  • Manga: Chapter 37
  • Anime: 16th episode

Panda and Mechamaru clash during the Kyoto Goodwill Arc. While there's not an iota of hatred between the two wizards, what they do have in common is that they're clearly weird and different from the others in their group, which can lead to alienation. Panda is much more peaceful and welcoming, while Mechamaru is prone to despair and self-loathing.

The anime presents a more colorful scene with green surroundings and several temples destroyed during the battle. Panda's metamorphosis into different forms is more impressive in the anime due to his glowing purple eyes and the emphasis of his wild, untamed side, which adds tension to the battle.

5 Gojo vs. Toji

Cursed against the stronger

Satoru Gojo vs. Toji Fusiguro, Kaisen Jujutsu Rematch

  • Manga: Chapter 70
  • Anime: Episode 27

The Hidden Inventory arc is a short prequel arc that shines a light on the youth of Satoru Gojo and his friend Suguru Geta, an assassin sorcerer with no cursed energy who trained long enough to become one of the strongest fighters in the world Jiu-jutsu Kaisen.

Unsurprisingly, when he challenges Satoru Gojo, an incredibly powerful sorcerer, their battle should be a spectacle. The confrontation between Gojo and Toji in the anime is infused with a bright golden hue, which adds an aura of divinity and more impact to Gojo's counterattack, which ends with Toji being destroyed.

4 Gojo vs. Curses of Calamity

A long and intense confrontation

  • Manga: 84
  • Anime: Episode 32

The Shibuya arc marked a boom in popularity for Jiu-jutsu Kaisenand one of the reasons it was so intense was to remove Satoru Gojo from the equation, which made the other sorcerers vulnerable. This was the result of a prolonged battle between Gojo and all of the disaster curses aimed at keeping him in one place long enough for Kenjaku to trap him.

The anime added a layer of unvarnished horror with the depiction of the bleak setting of the railway, contrasting the people frozen in place. This shows how fast curses are, and especially Gojo. The sequence of Gojo opening his domain for a split second was the highlight of this encounter.

3 Yuji vs. Choso

Revenge for his brothers

Choso in kaisen jujutsu

  • Manga: Chapter 101
  • Anime: Episode 37

The first season ended with a conflict between Yuji and Choso, with the latter blaming him and Nobara for his brothers' deaths. A meeting was inevitable and it happened during the Shibuya arc. Chosa began his hunt for Yuji in a competition against Mahito and Jogo and was lucky enough to discover Itadori first.

Relatives

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Best Female Characters in the Series

Female characters can sometimes be left out in shonen anime, but Jiu Jutsu Kaisen does these women justice.

The theme of the battle is blood, which correlates to Choso's techniques, and the anime does a great job of portraying this, creating a combination of dark crimson and bright blue to symbolize light. It's a very intense battle, tightly locked in tight quarters, making it incredibly dynamic and devastating for both sides.

2 Sukuna v. Mahoraga

Dismantling pure chaos

Mahorag fights Sukuna in the anime at Jujutsu Kaisen

  • Manga: Chapter 118
  • Anime: Episode 41

Rymen Sukuna is possibly the strongest character of them all JJKand he has many powerful abilities at his disposal. However, during the Shibuya arc, he is bound to Yuji's body and has very limited control. Due to Jogo's intervention, Sukun is able to capture Yuji, causing him to wreak havoc on Shibuya.

He battles Mahoraga, a powerful familiar summoned by Fusigura Megumi. The anime shows the battle between the two powerhouses with incredible speed and pace, but the chaotic clash is better captured by the movements shown in the anime. Sukuna has complete control over the flow as she is able to withstand all of Mahoraga's attacks.

1 Yudhi vs Mahit

Battle of foils

Mahita stands triumphantly in his true form in kaisen jujutsu

  • Manga: Chapter 121
  • Anime: Episode 42

The conflict between Yuji and Mahita is a testament to the cruelty and meanness of the latter. To anger Yuuji, he kills Nanami and severely injures Nobaro, also reminding him of Junpei's tragic death. The conflict ends with the cursed spirit entering its true form and challenging Yuuji once again, but in the process he ends up in front of the sorcerer.

The anime does a good job of portraying the dramatic tone of the fight, showing countless examples of transfiguration from the cursed spirit, which eventually results in it taking on a new, more dangerous form. The battle of abilities between Toda, Yuuji, and Mahita highlights the entire arc as it shows the protagonist's hard-won triumph.
