Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is making the jump to PlayStation after a period of console exclusivity on Xbox. PS5 owners will be able to start playing Warhammer 40,000: Darktide already at the end of November 2024.
Developed by Swedish studio Fatshark, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a fairly well-received first-person shooter that originally debuted on PC in November 2022. It then moved to the Xbox Series X/S the following October.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been in beta for a while trying to balance the classes, but some still fit and others fall.
Its Xbox exclusivity is coming to an end, and Fatshark has just announced a PS5 version of the game. The newly revealed port is scheduled to be released on December 3rd after a short early access period. This announcement may not come as a complete surprise to the most attentive fans, as the existence of a PS5 version Warhammer 40,000: Darktide already leaked in September 2024 thanks to an age estimate from Taiwan.
Early access to Warhammer 40k: Darktide for PS5 starts this month
The upcoming PS5 port will include all the balance tweaks and other updates that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide received since its initial release. As with the existing versions of the shooter, PS5 owners will be able to choose between the base game and its Imperial Edition, priced at $39.99 and $59.99, respectively. The higher-tier package will come with several bonuses, including a six-day early access period that is set to begin on November 27.
Other Imperial Edition goodies include the Loyalist pack with four class outfits and 8 weapon skins, as well as an Ogrin body tattoo and a unique headdress. The Mortis Veteran Portrait Frame will also be part of the $59.99 bundle, along with the Caducades Backpack and 2,500 Aquilas, the archer's premium currency that can be exchanged for a wide range of cosmetics.
The Warhammer 40,000: Darktide The PS5 port is poised to expand the selection of exciting FPS games on Sony's current generation console. It could also provide a great opportunity for PlayStation users to jump into the iconic franchise, not least because Dark tide widely touted as one of the most beginner-friendly Warhammer 40k games ever created. In terms of critical acclaim, the game has fared fairly well, highlighted by the fact that it currently holds a “Fair” rating on OpenCritic, based on an average score of 74 and 60% reviewer recommendations. And while Lifetime Steam user reviews are currently in the Mixed category (68.18% positive), due in part to some early performance issues, PC player reviews written since September's major balancing update , were mostly positive.
