The currently unnamed Zoan fruit is in one piece

Key conclusions

  • Zoan Devil Fruits in One Piece allow you to transform animals and increase your strength.
  • Some of the Zoan Devil Fruits in the series lack clear distinctions or clear powers.
  • Different One Piece characters use Zoan Devil Fruits in unique ways.

Zoan Devil Fruits are one of the three main options that appear in the One Piece series. They are shown to allow the user to transform into an animal or human-animal hybrid in addition to their standard appearance. This typically allows the user to increase physical strength and gain potentially desirable attributes from the animal associated with their Devil Fruit.

Relatives

One Piece: The All-Known Ancient Zoan Devil Fruits

Zoan Ancient Devil Fruits are some of the most unique in One Piece. Here's what we know about all those revealed so far.

The vast majority of Devil Fruits on display tend to have a name that identifies the exact form of their user. Unfortunately, not every Zoan Devil Fruit has been given this mark, and there are currently a few users whose exact powers are unclear, except that little is revealed about them.

6 Onigumo Devil Fruit

Allows Onigumo to turn into a spider

Onigumo One Piece

  • Debut: Chapter 420 (manga), episode 302 (anime)

Vice Admiral Oniguma was one of the five sent to summon Buster to Enies Lobby. He is a firm believer in Absolute Justice, and sabers seem to be his weapon of choice. His Devil Fruit allows him to transform into a spider, though the exact species, or even a specific one he is descended from, is unclear.

Onigumo tends to mainly use this ability to wield six extra swords in battle, in addition to the pair in each of his real hands. This is somewhat similar to the sword styles of Hatchan and Hyouzo, who use their octopus-like physiology to carry additional swords. Extra appendages appear to extend from his hair, and this appears to be the extent to which he uses his Devil Fruit abilities. Any other potential abilities the spider has, such as using webs and being potentially toxic, seem of little interest to him when he is actually capable of both.

5 Epoid's Devil Fruit

Allows Epoida to transform into a caterpillar

Epoida has a Devil Fruit caterpillar in one piece

  • Debut: Chapter 553 (manga), episode 467 (anime)

Epoid is a sub-captain of the Whitebeard Pirates who historically sailed with a crew before starting his own. The exact extent of his power remains unknown, but he is believed to be quite powerful as one of Whitebeard's subordinate captains, some of whom are shown to be the same as Vice Admirals or collectively destroy pacifists.

Epoid is the only identified Devil Fruit user among the subordinate captains. His unnamed Devil Fruit allows him to transform into a caterpillar, but it's unclear exactly how this affects his skills in battle (if it does at all). His body seems to split up like the pattern on a striped shirt in hybrid form. It is unknown if he can transform into a butterfly from his base form. Although if he did, perhaps it would be similar to Baron Tamago, who tends to transition between three forms in the egg-to-chicken cycle. It is likely that this aspect, like Epoida, will remain unexplored due to its already limited importance in the series.

4 Dalmatian devil fruit

Allows the Dalmatian to turn into a dog

Dalmatian one piece

  • Debut: Chapter 553 (manga), episode 462 (anime)

The Dalmatian is a vice admiral who, as his name suggests, has a devil fruit that seems to turn him into an iconic dog breed. According to Kennel ClubDalmatians are “capable of great endurance and sufficient speed.” Although the Dalmatian's exact physical capabilities have yet to be measured in depth, these traits are likely necessary to become a vice admiral. The Dalmatian is almost always shown in its hybrid form, with canine and human features appearing in different parts of its face.

Relatives

One Piece: The 22 Most Powerful Zoan Devil Fruits (So Far)

Zoan Devil Fruits grant their users amazing abilities. These are the strongest ones demonstrated so far.

Instead of relying on weapons, Dalmatian trained in Shells and physically perfected his body to the point where he could even pierce Luffy's skin. In this respect, it is similar to the various members of CP0 who used Rokushki in conjunction with Zoan forms. It's unclear how he compares to Rob Lucci physically, but as a Vice Admiral he probably has quite a bit of power behind his title.

3 Stussy's Devil Fruit

Turns Stassi into a vampire bat (?)

Stussy licks his lips after sucking blood in his hybrid form in One Piece.

  • Debut: Chapter 860 (manga), episode 830 (anime)

Stassi is a clone of Miss Buckingham Stassi, a slightly older pirate who was once acquainted with Whitebeard and supposedly her lover. She was a product of MADS, an illegal research institute made up of Vegapunk and other famous scientists. Stussy acted as a “mole” for Vegapunk and became an undercover agent of Cipher Pol 0 for over a decade without arousing suspicion.

During the Egghead arc, she betrayed Luchi and Kaku when they tried to fight Vegapunk, growing wings and leaking blood to knock out her fellow agents. It's likely a Devil Fruit product, though the exact logistics are unclear. Notably, this Devil Fruit, despite not appearing to be awakened, can knock out users who have awakened their Devil Fruit, though it is unclear whether this is a testament to Stasi's power or the Devil Fruit itself . This could be either standard or mythic Zoan due to the existence of real vampire bats and the fictitious nature of vampires. In some ways, it has parallels with Patrick Redfield's Devil Fruit. One Piece: Unlimited World Redbut he is not shown to have his exact capabilities, which puts him in the mythical category.

2 Pomsky

Turns a Pomsky into a sea otter

Pomsky in human and hybrid forms, the latter of which causes him to transform into a sea otter in One Piece

  • Debut: Chapter 1089 (manga)

This vice admiral made his debut in the recently concluded Egghead arc as one of the nine participants in the event known as the Egghead Incident. Even compared to some of the other Vice Admirals, quite a bit is known about him, except for his somewhat fascinating Devil Fruit.

Relatives

One Piece: 5 strongest merfolk in the series, ranking

Despite their relative rarity, the merfolk in One Piece are not to be trifled with, and some of them are impressively strong.

The nameless Devil Fruit allows Pomsky to transform into a sea otter. However, the inherent nature of devil fruit does not allow the Pomsky to enjoy one of the main advantages of mammals: the ability to cross water effectively. Although sea otters are capable of traversing land, many of their traits are primarily focused on their existence in water. However, Pomsky went all-in on the aquatic theme, using a hammer-tipped mallet in the shape of a seashell as his primary weapon.

1 Five elders

A chimera of mythical zoans

five elders gorosei not devil fruit users one piece

  • Debut Chapter 233 (manga) Episode 151 (anime)

These semi-immortal oligarchs are the public personas of Imu, the true ruler of the world. Each of them is responsible for a specific position that they have declared as the “Warrior God”, such as justice, finance or agriculture. Even with one of them killed and replaced, there's still a lot fans don't know about these men, including the names of their supposed devil fruits. Each one looks like an esoteric Mythical Zoan, the rarest known variant of the Devil Fruit.

The corresponding forms are Itsumade (Marcus Mars); the monstrous Fancy Bird (Topman Varcury); the demonic boar, Bakotsu (Etanbaron V. Nusyuro); skeleton horse, sand worm (shepherd Zhu Peter); a giant worm capable of devouring anything, and Gyuki (Jaigarcia Saturn); a whimsical hybrid of a bull and a spider. Each of them also seems to have “awakened”. Due to Saturn's execution, it is unclear what Devil Fruit the newest Elder, Figureland Garling, possesses, or if he even has one.
