The cruelest deaths in Smile 2

Smile 2 is both a direct and indirect sequel to the original film. Aside from the Joel-related intro from the first film, the main plot revolves around a returning pop star. Skye had some substance abuse issues that led to the traumatic event.

She is on a new tour to show that she still has the power to be an idol, but something keeps stopping her. Is it her own self-doubt or is there some kind of curse behind it all? Either way, her journey leads to some truly gruesome deaths Smile 2 that the opponent that with Aliens: Romulus.

6 Mafiosi

Pumpkin spice and a knife

The movie opens with Joel from the first movie sitting in his car waiting to ambush a man with Pumpkin Spice Frappuccinos. He takes the man to the house to see who Joel thinks is the main thug. After a quick knife kill, which is pretty serious, a shootout ensues with a lot of thugs.

This is not exactly how Joel wanted it to happen, as he presumably planned to lift the curse. Instead, he has to hide from other thugs who appear after the people he attacked die. This intro demonstrates that this is a much scarier film than the original or the other mediums, and that it generally pulls no punches.

5 Joel

Hit a truck

Although Paul didn't die the way he wanted in that mob house, he did die shortly after. Escaping, he runs into the middle of the road, where the truck completely destroys him. Other horror films might be content with showing a trail of blood and leaving death to the imagination, but that's not the case here.

Smile 2 wants viewers to see what carnage a truck can do to a person. There is blood and guts everywhere, and at the center of it all is Joel's mutilated body. Needless to say, his funeral was probably a closed coffin in the movie.

4 Lewis

This is not how you use weights

Viewers learn early on that Skye, the main character, has been in a car accident. As a result, her boyfriend, the actor Paul, died, and left severe scars on her back and chest. She also has crippling pain that won't go away and regular pain pills can't solve her problems.

She can't get anything harder except through drug dealers because of her checkered past. When she runs out of good stuff, Skye calls her old dealer, Lewis. When she goes there, Lewis becomes hysterical, which eventually leads to an episode where he sees some kind of horrible monster. He then kills himself with a detached kettlebell and they show everything.

3 Maurice's brother

He must have played a lot of Half-Life

There is one super quick kill in the movie that they don't spend much time on. Throughout the experience, Skye continues to receive text messages from an unknown number. Because this killer parasite causes people to see illusions, viewers are led to believe that all of these texts are in Skye's head.

However, they are real, which leads Skye to a man named Maurice. He is a nurse who wants to help Skye end this curse since it took his brother. As he tells her, the film cuts to a quick cut of Brother Maurice removing his jaw with a crowbar. Which would make him use a crowbar if he didn't play much Half-Life?

2 Elizabeth

Destructive use of mirror fragments

Skye's mom, Elizabeth, only seems to care about one thing Smile 2: Skye goes on tour. Although she exhibits erratic behavior, she chooses not to see it. It all comes to a climax after Skye wakes up from the accident.

She is lying in a hospital bed next to her mother and says that she can no longer participate in the music tour. After an argument, her mom turns into one of those human parasites. She smashes a mirror and starts cutting, going so far as to gouge out an eye with a shard. It's unpleasant to say the least, but Skye discovers that she killed her, or so it seems.

Has she become the boss of the Elden Ring?

The end of the movie leaves fans with one big mystery. How much of the film after Lewis's death was an illusion? The final scene of the film shows Skye on stage with her mom cheering from the sidelines along with the rest of her fans. Is it an illusion or was everything else an illusion?

Horror movies that end like this can be frustrating, but they're also fun to discuss with friends and family afterwards. Illusion or not, Skye goes through the wringer on stage, running into some Elden Ringlevel demon enters her horribly elongated mouth, and then she sticks herself with a microphone on stage. Her fans don't seem happy with their concert.
