7 Days to Die: 15 Tips for Beginners
7 Days To Die can be a tough challenge for beginners. With these tips for beginners, players can not only survive, but thrive.
Updated on November 4, 2024. Benjamin Joe: Since the release 7 days to death 1.0 already had an update that changed some game mechanics. Not only that, but the game is coming with a new and even bigger update in the near future. With all the hype surrounding the game and its updates, it's time to update this article. While the original article did contain many of the main sale items, there are a few other items that didn't make the list. Also added additional details for some items in the list that can only be sold at certain times during the playthrough.
10 Mods for weapons and weapons
Unused weapon
- Best time to sell: Mid to late game
Weapons will play a big role 7 days to death time is running out. However, aside from low-level tubular weapons, players won't have much need for weapon parts in the beginning. Since weapon parts usually sell for a decent amount of Dukes, it's worth selling them to buy more useful items like food and armor mods.
Items like rocket launcher parts are pretty useless to players for the first few weeks. So there's not much point in holding on to them. In addition, as the player progresses and visits major cities, he will encounter many weapons and weapon parts.
9 Sell mods and weapons separately
Maximize profits
- Best time to sell: Mid to late game
Although there are some exceptions, most of the time weapons and armor that have mods will sell for more if the mods are sold separately from the weapon/armor parts.
For example, if a player wants to sell a fire axe, they will make more dukes if they remove any mods that might be on the axe, and then sell the ax and mods in separate transactions. 7 days to death players should always compare prices before selling any items with attached mods to see which is more valuable.
8 Repair items before selling them
Earn more Dukes by selling quality items
- Best time to sell: Throughout the game
If a player sells an item with low durability, they won't get many Dukes for it. The better the condition of the item, the more Dukes the player will receive when selling it.
This may not always be the case, as sometimes the resources required to repair an item may exceed the total cost of the item, but in most cases, 7 days to death players should try to sell items in the best possible condition to maximize the number of Dukes merchants will pay for them.
7 Lower level items
There is no need to cling to old things
- Best time to sell: Throughout the game
Whenever the player upgrades certain power-ups or reads certain magazines, he will learn to craft items at higher levels. Additionally, as the player levels up, the player will begin to encounter higher level items while looting. For example, if a player is using a level 2 pistol, but comes across a level 3 pistol, there is no point in keeping the old weapon.
Weapons that are no longer needed by several dukes should be handed over to the nearest merchant. However, players should also pay close attention to their weapon mods and always remove any important ones before parting with the weapon.
6 Junk magazines
There is no need to level up every skill early on
- Best time to sell: Throughout the game
Journals play a big role in character development 7 days to death. Players need certain journals to learn how to craft certain items in the game. Since there are many different paths that players can take in terms of choosing bonuses, it is important that they sell any magazines that are not particularly useful to them.

7 Days To Die: best bonuses, rating
Choosing the right power-ups will not only make playing 7 Days To Die a lot less stressful, but also a lot more rewarding.
Selling items gives some experience as well as dukes, so it can help players level up a bit faster. When a player finds a magazine, they should check if it is useful for their play style. If not, it might be worth selling.
5 Mechanical and electrical parts
Hold on to a few and sell the rest
- Best time to sell: Within the first few days
In the early stages, mechanical and electrical parts will not be very useful to players, but later on these resources are definitely worth using. For the first few weeks, these items can make a pretty good profit. However, players should not sell all their mechanical and electrical parts, as it is worth keeping some just in case. But, if the player has quite a large amount, it can be very profitable to pass them for some Dukes.
Since mechanical parts and electrical parts are fairly easy to find, especially if the player has a wrench, there is no need to stockpile them early on.
4 Old money
Exchange cash for cash
- Best time to sell: Throughout the game
Dukes are the accepted currency of the zombie apocalypse. However, some people still have pre-flash money in their homes, safes and even on their person. For this money, players can kill zombies and rob houses.
Although it can be exchanged for cloth, it is much more profitable to sell this form of currency to a merchant. Also, since players can hold large amounts of money, it's a great item for hordes in large quantities to sell to one of the in-game traders.
3 Super corn
Hard to find, easy to grow, lots of profit
- Best time to sell: As soon as possible, but it usually takes a while.
Super Corn is a very rare crop that can be planted and grown. Once grown, it can be used to make duct tape. U 7 days to death players can never have too much duct tape. Supercorn can be used not only to make duct tape, but also to sell it for a large profit. Players can create thousands of Dukes every few days, allocating territory to produce Super Corn.
Finding this item can be a bit tricky. While there is a small chance that players will be able to find Super Corn in loot containers or receive it as a mission reward, the best place to get it is cellar at Carl's Corn. Players can also obtain Super Corn from the Shamway Food Factory. However, this is a high level area that is very difficult to clear.
Sell gold, silver and diamonds for a nice amount
- Best time to sell: As soon as possible, but it usually takes a while.
After reading The Art of Mining Volume 1, the player will start collecting a piece of rare metal every now and then while mining. Players have a small chance to collect diamonds, gold and silver with each swing. These materials, although hard to come by, are very valuable. Whether a player likes mining or not, it is something they will need to do regularly to build and upgrade their base. The more the player mines, the more rare materials they will receive, which is a nice incentive to complete what would otherwise be a rather tedious task.
1 Plants
Some plants can be very useful
- Best time to sell: Early game.
Plants grow in different areas 7 days to death. Items such as Goldenrod, Cotton and Chrysanthemum can be collected and then used to craft certain potions and essential items. While they won't make players much money, they're usually worth a couple of dukes each.
If the player wants to take it a step further and craft items like Golden Rod Tea, they can sell them for even more Dukes. But especially in the early stages of the game, selling various plants can help players purchase much-needed survival items.
