While Yanagi is undeniably strong on her own merits, her stance switching attacks and Electric Anomaly skill set require solid support to reach her full potential.

In Zenless Zone Zero, even enemies dig.
Whether you're looking to build the ultimate premium S-Rank team, an all-electric synergy, or a budget option, the right squad will bring out the best in Yanagi. Here's a breakdown of the optimal teams for Yanagi to suit any playstyle.

The Mono Electric team
Rank |
Name |
---|---|
1 |
Yanagi |
2 |
Seth |
3 |
Rina or Grace |
Yanagi is the key that unlocks the potential of a mono-electric team. In the past, mono-electric teams saw their damage fall off a cliff because they couldn't mess up or take full advantage of the hit anomaly. Thanks to Yanagi's ability to create his own chaos effect with a passive skill, this team can now deal constant damage.

Zenless Zone Zero: Top 10 W-Engine, Ranked
Here are the best W-Engines in Zenless Zone Zero!
When it comes to dedicated Anomaly support, Seth is your guy. It takes little time to hunt and applies a 20% RES anomaly grind that will speed up your Shock actions. It also gives the chosen unit an extra 100 anomalies and a shield, which Yanagi will definitely appreciate.
Bangboo – Plugboo or Electroboo
Both of these electrifying Bangboo buddies provide stacks of Electric Anomaly and damage that a mono-electric team can take full advantage of.

Disorder Premium Team
Rank |
Name |
---|---|
1 |
Yanagi |
2 |
Bernice |
3 |
Caesar |
As you'd expect from a number of S-rank agents, Yanagi's premium team stands out as the strongest option for those lucky enough or dedicated enough to collect all the members. Yanagi is a character that takes time to cast Electrical Anomaly, gain Stance Switch buffs, and blast enemies with Polarity. So you want her to be top of your team as your primary DPS. Burnice and Yanagi are a perfect match thanks to the Burnices Afterburn passive.
This allows Bernice to consistently apply fire anomaly without wasting time on the field, and gives Yanagi the freedom to dominate the battlefield and continuously unleash massive processes of chaos on enemies. Caesar is the most flexible (and strongest) support unit in the game, providing massive attack buffs, a daze application, and an upgradable shield. With all these bonuses, Yanagi hits even harder and becomes almost untouchable.
Bangboo – Plugboo
While this team misses the Plugboos B skill, it will still contribute a lot of additional electrical anomaly build up, making it even easier to trigger shock and disorder.
3
Fire riot team
Rank |
Name |
---|---|
1 |
Yanagi |
2 |
Bernice |
3 |
Lucy |
Similar to the premium team, the Fire Disorder team focuses on combining the strengths of Yanagi and Bernice, but it doesn't require a lot of investment from three S-rank agents. Yanagi is a character that takes a lot of time to apply electric anomaly, get switch buffs positions and smash enemies using polarity.
Lucy brings squad-wide attack buffs, a Fire Anomaly add-on, and three cute guardian boars to wail on enemies. In addition to these advantages, she also takes up almost no time on the field, making her the perfect support for this team.
Bangboo – Rocketboo
Rocketboo can increase the heat even more with its ability to greatly increase the build up of Fire Anomaly. This gives Yanagi even more opportunities to unleash powerful Chaos strikes.
2
Physical Disorders Team
Rank |
Name |
---|---|
1 |
Jane/Piper |
2 |
Yanagi |
3 |
Set/Caesar |
It's probably one of the hardest teams to pilot due to the need for frequent quick swaps, but seeing the team's massive amount of physical and electrical mess damage makes it worth it. Jane is the undisputed queen of Physical Anomaly and will quickly tear enemies apart with her Critical Anomaly potential.
Combined with Yanagi's ability to quickly create an electrical anomaly and apply her own chaos effects, this duo becomes unstoppable. All of this comes with a big caveat: you'll need to manage the playing time between both of these characters properly, as they both want to be on the field as much as possible. If you don't have Jane, Piper is a good A-rank alternative to apply Physical Anomaly.

In this team, Yanagi takes more of a backseat because she has to share her free time with Jane, who apparently needs more than her to tap into the potential of her passion. Seth can quickly give anomaly-based buffs to his teammates and is the perfect support for Yanagi and Jane's show. Caesar is also a powerful option, but as a limited S-rank agent, you may not have her available.
Bangboo – Plugboo or Bangvolver
Depending on whether you're running Seth or Caesar, you'll want to set up your chosen Bangboo accordingly.
1
Stun command
Rank |
Name |
---|---|
1 |
Tsingyi/Christmas |
2 |
Yanagi |
3 |
Seth/Lucy |
As a premium stun unit, Qingyi disrupts enemies and easily creates windows of stun that the team's DPS can exploit. Qinya's abilities pair well with Yanagi's ability to build an electrical anomaly, keeping enemies vulnerable and increasing the damage dealt by Polar Disturbance. If you want to have a stun team that uses Fire Disorder, consider using Koleda. As a primary Electric DPS, Yanagi excels at causing Polarity Disruption on enemies affected by her anomaly, increasing damage and taking advantage of stun windows.

Although her field time will be split with the stun unit, she can still deal a ton of damage in and out of combat. The set provides both electrical anomaly and general anomaly support, making it an excellent choice. Like Koleda, if you focus on Fire Disorder, you can swap Seth for Lucy.
Bangboo – Plugboo or Rocketboo
Depending on what Disorder effect you're aiming for, use the appropriate item's Bangboo.
