Key conclusions
- Support options in Overwatch 2 Classic mode are limited to only 4 heroes, 3 specialist healers and 1 utility based support.
- Symmetra is not a viable healer choice in classic due to her lack of healing abilities and low survivability.
- Mercy stands out as the best healer in Overwatch 2's classic mode with a powerful Ultimate and constant healing capabilities.
Support will be easier with support/doctors Supervision 2Classic mode because there are only four to choose from. They are part of the 21 hero roster that represents Overwatch version 1.0 1. Among the three, only three are specialist doctors, while one is a support service.

Overwatch: Classic – the best teams to choose from
Team lineups in Overwatch 2's classic mode are presented in 6v6 options, offering players more freedom in how they approach the match.
Basically, Overwatch: Classic is a blast from the past. As many old school fans may remember, Lucio, Mercy, Zenyatta, and Symmetra were the Support/Healer choices at launch. Lucio and Zenyatta now have a kit similar to what they had before, while Mercy and Symmetra have seen the biggest changes.
With this in mind, rating Support/Healers in Supervision 2Classic mode easier than the standard game. That's where they all are in the limited time 6v6 mode.
4 Symmetry
Utility-based support, not doctor-based
Here is an overview of the Symmetra kit Supervision 2Classic Mode:
- Photon projector: A melee beam weapon with increased damage.
- Photon projector: Hold to charge, release to light orb.
- Guard turret: Deploy a small turret that deals damage and slows enemies.
- Photon Shield: Give shields to an ally.
- Teleport: Expand the teleporter that connects to the spawn room.
Placing Symmetra at the bottom of the healer rankings in Overwatch: Classic is simple – she's not a healer. She does give allies a 25HP Shield and it stays until they die, but it doesn't make much of a difference against most enemies. If paired with health what SupervisionIn the Tank Heroes kit, it could have been better.
Her primary fire is better here as it locks onto targets and stays even if the crosshairs are not directly positioned. However, it deals much less damage and does not restore Symmetra's shield HP. To make things more complicated, range is reduced to about 5m – incredibly dangerous since she only has 200 HPhalf base health and half shield. Secondary fireballs deal less damage and take much longer to fire and move. They can go through multiple opponents so that's a plus.

Overwatch 2 features all Overwatch: Classic Hero kits
Overwatch 2 reveals all of the playable heroes in Overwatch: Classic, giving fans a refresher on old school kits of their favorite characters.
Many players choose Symmetra as support Supervision 2Classic mode for her Sentry Turrets and her Teleporter. Towers can now be stacked up to six, which is a definite improvement. This helps them do a ridiculous amount of movement and damage. However, they mostly have 1HP and she needs to be around to deploy them.
Overall, Symmetra isn't much of a support or healer in Overwatch: Classic and players would be better off choosing others. She is a much better DPS hero Supervision 2however, so that's a relief.
3 Zenyatta
Good healer, great DPS support
Here is Zenyatta's healer kit in Overwatch: Classic:
- Sphere of Destruction: Energy projectile weapons.
- Sphere of Destruction: Charge to fire more projectiles.
- Sphere of harmony: Launch this orb at an ally to heal them.
- Ball of Discord: Launch this orb at an enemy to increase their damage.
- transcendence: Become invulnerable and heal nearby allies.
Zenyatta's presence in any Overwatch: Classic lineup is intimidating. He is doing quite well with the treatment. Orb of Harmony moves slower than in the current game, but the off-hand special healing is still a plus. His strength as a DPS is also appreciated, especially since the games can be quite chaotic.
The big strength of Overwatch: Classic is Healer Sphere of discord. Here it is deals 2x increased damage. Since heroes have a smaller HP pool, using this in conjunction with even a moderately skilled attacker can result in quick kills. His Orbs of Destruction also deal quite a bit of damage. The number is smaller than in the standard game, but the total health pool is also smaller, which provides some balance anyway.
Despite his upside, there's a good reason – a reason and a half, actually – why he's ranked third on the list of best doctors in Supervision 2Classic mode. first of all Zenyatta comes with a very low health pool of 150HP. This means that it will take no more than a couple of seconds to kill him. Furthermore, his Transcendence is still pretty good in terms of ally health, but it doesn't provide movement boost and is very slow. His melee hit also has no knockback effect, which is a huge downside to the Zenyatta grid.
2 Lucio
A mobile hero with excellent healing range
Here is an overview of Lucio's kit as a healer Supervision 2Classic mode:
- Sound Amplifier: Sonic for projectiles.
- Sound wave: Create a short-range blast wave to knock enemies away from you.
- Crossing: Increases the effectiveness of your current song.
- Sound barrier: Create temporary extra health for nearby allies.
Lucio comes with 200HP which is kind of decent. He's still disposable for broken Overwatch: Classic Heroes like Hanzo and Cassidy, but he's also a bit harder to hit. His movement is good and allows him to move around the map more easily. Unfortunately, it's not as polished and improved as the current game. This is an important point as the gameplay is quite unbalanced and it is not that difficult to destroy a Support Hero.
Lucio's boop now consumes four ammo, which is a decent drawback to his 20 ammo shot. And yet, it's just as effective against pesky enemies as it is on its own Supervision 2. Ultimate is still good, and since it stacks up faster than the others, it's very effective.

How Overwatch Classic Actually Makes Modern Overwatch 2 Better
The launch of Overwatch Classic as an arcade mode in Overwatch 2 was exciting, but there are a few ways to help make the sequel better.
The biggest plus in his set is Crossfade – It comes with a range of 30minstead of the current 10 m. This means players can essentially keep moving to harass opponents, confident that their allies are still healing. It should be noted that this increased range is balanced by reduced healing. And yet, its practical healing and movement enhancement is enough.
1 Mercy
Good healing and damage boost, awesome Ultimate
Mercy's kit as a healer hero in Overwatch: Classic includes:
- Caduceus Staff (initial): Hold to heal an ally.
- Caduceus Blaster: Automatic weapons.
- Caduceus Staff (secondary): Hold to increase damage dealt to an ally.
- Guardian Angel: Fly to an ally.
- Resurrect: Revive dead teammates.
- Angelic Care: Fall very slowly.
- Regeneration: Regenerate your own health without taking any damage.
Mercy is one of the staples, easily the best support and healer at Supervision 2Classic mode. The biggest change to her kit and what makes her better is her Ultimate. Now it's a Multi-Hero Resurrect. This means that players can revive all of their teammates, instantly. It's not as common as the current Resurrect cooldown with 30 seconds in Supervision 2's standard game, but it's great in matches. This is one of the best support abilities in Supervisionever.
However, her kit has a significant drawback. Mercy's movement in Overwatch: Classic is much simpler – there is only a simple “fly to an ally”. This means that Mercy members who are used to complex Guardian Angel maneuvers like the Slingshot may run into some problems in the early stages. This simplified movement mechanic makes her more vulnerable, so players will need to be on the alert at all times.
Besides these two aspects of her kit, Mercy's healing and damage boost are pretty much the same. Thus, gamers can maintain a solid presence in any match. Whether they use strategies like permanently pocketing Pharah or making Roadhog essentially immortal, they'll find that Mercy is the best Healer in Supervision 2Classic mode.
