Key conclusions
- Thanks to the 1.6 update, you can now play Stardew Valley with up to eight people.
- So one fan used this to his advantage by making all eight contestants in the game marry a bachelor/bachelorette.
- Since the villagers stay around even if your friends go offline, this means they have eight villagers on the farm at all times.
In Stardew Valley, you can attract villagers to your farm by marrying them, but one fan has found a way to gather an entire town's people onto his farm thanks to the 1.6 update.
The game now supports eight-person multiplayer, so when every villager marries a villager, you can start that cute little cult you've always wanted. I mean the commune. A small friendly commune without any victims.
You could take it even further with children
As one of the commentators points out, if every serf and bachelor had two children, it would be possible to increase the population to 32 people, which is more than half of the population of the city itself. A cult (sorry, commune) is growing.

Relatives
I'm not sure I could ever play Stardew Valley without guides
For a quiet life simulator, living in Pelican City can be very stressful.
Even better, if one of your minions leaves the game, the villagers will stay until you demolish their house. All you have to do is have seven coral friends play Stardew Valley at the same time, quickly marry a bunch of villagers and have a couple of kids each. Then your farm will always be full.
It's currently only available on PC, but ConcernedApe announced last month that the 1.6 update will finally hit consoles and mobile devices on November 4th. So, in just a few weeks, you can try it out for yourself if you don't already have a copy of Steam handy.

Return your grandfather's farm to its former glory in Stardew Valley, the charming indie simulation RPG developed by Eric “ConcernedApe” Baron. Along the way, you'll meet new friends, romantic villagers, and explore deep caves in search of materials you'll need to craft, build, and grow.
