Spider-Man joins forces with the X-Men in this forgotten Super Nintendo beat 'em up game. Combining these two Marvel IPs gave the developers a wider variety of bosses than one would expect when comparing it to Spidey's solo adventure. However, some of the villains that appear in the Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade's Revenge surprisingly unclear.
In addition to some of the usual suspects like the Sentinels, Rhino or Carnage, this game also features unknown comic book villains like Nyastir, the Card King and Master Mold. As the title suggests, the main antagonist is Arcade, a classic comic character that most people don't recognize. In the end, this unique lineup of 10 different bosses helped Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade's Revenge stand out a lot more.

Sequel to Insomniac's 2023 Spider-Man the game was much more ambitious and expansive, but unfortunately it couldn't surpass its predecessor when it comes to the total number of bosses. This is mainly due to the fact that it did not receive any DLC, and Insomniac has already confirmed that they have no plans to release any DLC for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in the future.

This is an often forgotten sequel Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage based on the 1995 comic book story, Venom: Separation anxiety. Considering there were many other iconic symbiotes in that comic, its game adaptation cleverly included all of them as bosses.
U Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxietythe titular duo must face off against villains like Riot, Phage, Agony, Scream, and Lasher. But it's not all about symbiotes. Other unknown characters make unexpected appearances in this Beat 'Em Up adventure, with Ramshot and Bombblast being some notable examples. There's no Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, or Rhino in this game, and the boss gallery makes it more distinctive and memorable, even if some enemies are reused throughout the main campaign.

However, they are very different from ordinary ones. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is an adventure in the Multiverse, and as such it presents unexpectedly unique incarnations of these characters from other dimensions, each with their own design and art style.
In addition to these exciting Multiverse villains, Broken dimensions also features a few unexpected appearances of icons from X-Men series like Juggernaut and Deadpool around the time the Merc with a Mouth became more popular. The final nice touch is none other than Mysterio, which is not often seen in the Spider-Man video games.

The base game already featured 11 different incredible encounters with a variety of characters, from iconic villains like Electro, Vulture and Doctor Octopus to more obscure ones that turned out to be surprisingly compelling like Mister Negative and Tombstone.
