Hollow Knight: Silksong and Bloodborne fans are almost soul mates because they are both groups of people who are constantly waiting and praying for something related to their favorite game. It could be an announcement, a release date, a trailer, or even a minor update, but these fanbases have been left in the dark and suffered for so long that they've almost given up hope.
The Game Awards 2024 was supposed to finally change that. The show generated unprecedented hype, insiders hinted at massive announcements, and Silksong fans got their hopes up again. Meanwhile, Bloodborne fans are already in for a treat following mysterious server maintenance and what many believe to be a teaser included in the PlayStation's 30th anniversary video.
The Wait For Hollow Knight: Silksong and Bloodborne continues
Unfortunately, that didn't happen, as while there were plenty of massive announcements at The Game Awards, there was no sign of Silksong or Bloodborne. Now that the dust has settled, fans of both games have once again taken to their respective subreddits to air their grievances and share their collective depression, such as Reddit user Holly-Wan Kenobi, who just started begging Team Cherry for any kind of communication.
Another fan pointed out that both the Elden Ring and the spin-off Elden Ring will launch before we even get a sniff of Hollow Knight: Silksong, while another more excited fan, ShinyChespin, took to the subreddit to state that developer Team Cherry ” undeserving of their fan base.” Ai.
Bloodborne fans were also in full force on their subreddit, their persistence well over. A user named Lachoprime just shared a photo of a Hunter with a clown nose that shows how every Bloodborne fan must be feeling right now, while other users in the replies simply comment, “I'm going to kill myself” and “It's so bloody.”
All we can do now is look to the next big event, which will likely feature one of the big three platform holders, and reapply our clown makeup in the hope that one of them actually shows up. As for now, we can just try to shake off the depression, maybe watch the Silksong reveal trailer again to feel something again, and take solace in the fact that at least Silksong and Bloodborne fans have each other.
