Diane Ademu-John and Alison Schapker Dune: Prophecy it's only week two, but already, the bodies are piling up. The Great Houses are not quite at war yet, but the rebels on Arakis and Bene Gesserit are already showing cracks, and things are moving in that direction in Dune: Prophecy season 1.
Set 10,148 years before the birth of Paulus Atreides Dune the prequel features the rise of the Bene Gesserit under the stoic abbess Valia Harkonen (Emily Watson). While the Bene Gesserit plan to put one of their own on the throne, their ranks lost another on the November 24 episode of “Two Wolves.” It was appropriately tragic, but fear not. The sacrifice only makes the Bene Gesserit stronger.

Who Dies in Dune Prophecy Episode 2?
It was a short but pleasant stay Dune: Prophecy for Chloe Lee Lila. Though Tula Harkanen (Olivia Williams) foresaw her future Reverend Mother, Leela died in her quest for sisterhood to save herself. While Valya was away dealing with the deaths of Lord Pruvet Richesi (Charlie Hodson-Prior) and Reverend Mother Kashi (Jiha Kim) in the first episode, she left her sister in charge of the school and asked her to guide Lila through Spice. Agony”.
Tula was seen preparing Rosaka's poison, which is a hint at the ritual associated with his discovery of Rosaka in the books. 2004 year Dune: Battle of Korin By Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson was cleared of the ritual when he confirmed that Raquel Bertha-Anirul (Cathy Tyson) had been poisoned by Rossak sorceress Tisia Senwa and had successfully turned the drug into a harmless substance. One side effect of the substance is the ability to visit the merged ego and memories of one's female ancestors. However, as Lila's death shows, they don't always welcome visitors.
Agony is already familiar to fans of the original Frank Herbert books and films. Both Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) and Paul Atreides (Timothy Chalamet) went through it. The most famous thing is that Paul started Agony in Dune: Part two and appeared on the other side as the legendary Quisatz Haderach/Lisan al-Ghaib. Spice Agony involves ambitious Reverend Mothers ingesting the blue substance, but as terrible as it is for them, it's even worse for the men. As Reverend Mother Helen Machiam noted in v Duneall the people who tried to transmute the Water of Life died.

Josh Brolin has spoken about his role in Dune: Messiah and when he'll be working on it, and the conversation doesn't bode well.
After being administered the deadly poison, Leela metabolized the toxin and successfully regained consciousness to meet her ancestors in her Other Memory. She met Raquel, who was not only the first leader of the Bene Gesserit, but also Lila's great-great-grandmother. Although Raquel looked like she was there to help her relative, everything was interrupted by the spirit of Sister Dorothea. 30 years before the main events of the series, Valya used the Voice for the first time and made Dorothea commit suicide.
As the vengeful Dorothea warned Tula, Valya took away her future, which means that now she will also take away her “hope”. Since Leela was something of a foster daughter to Tula, Dorothea dealt a devastating blow by killing Leela on Vala IX and thus killing her physical form. Given that Lila seemed like an underrated character full of promise without the ego of some of the other girls, it was a shock to see her give up so early – especially given her connection to Raquel and the fact that Dorothea was her own grandmother.
Leela's death makes perfect sense
There are already theories floating around that Leela might not be gone forever. Herbert Children of the dune features Paul's sister Alia (played briefly by Anya Taylor-Joy in Dune: Part two), possessed by the spirit of Baron Harkonnen – her biological grandfather. Dorothea is out for revenge, and if she can get a hold of Leela while tricking Tula into thinking she's still alive, the school could be in serious trouble.
Most importantly, Lila's death allowed Raquelle to warn the sisters of the impending Tyran-Arafeli, and she told the young acolyte:
The key to redemption is the twice-born. Once in the blood. Once in the spices. A revenant full of scars. Weapons born of war, on too short a path.
The first episode foreshadowed a great retribution to come at the hands of the tyrant, with ominous images teasing the destruction of the Bene Gesserit temple on Wall IX. While this seemed to foreshadow Leto Atreides II as the God-Emperor of the Dune, the fact that Demond Hart (Travis Fimmel) “died” on Arrakis and was reborn during the war makes him another potential player in the role of the legendary Tyrant-Arafel.
It also threw another mystery into the mix, with fans wondering what happened to Leela's mother. The girls are taken away from their biological mothers at birth to prevent them from bonding, and although Tula told Leela that her mother died during childbirth, it appears that this was another lie by the Harkanens. A hopeful Lila assumed she could see her mother in her Other Memory, but when Dorothea emerged from the shadows, she told Lila that her mysterious mother was not there. Instead, she suggested that the Bene Gesserit used it as a tool to force Leela to go there.
It is clear that Lila's mother did not die in childbirth. Since she is not in another memory, if she is still alive, this can have serious consequences. Whether she's a character that's already been introduced or one that's yet to debut, Raquel's great-granddaughter can be a powerful ally or a formidable foe. There's a reason Valya and Tula are keeping her fate a secret, but with Leela dead, the past might have caught up with the Harkonnen sisters. After all, Desmond Hart has already shown Vali that she's not as powerful as she thinks she is.
Even if Leela disappears in physical form, she may appear further. As sister Emmeline (Aefi Hinds) told Lila in her agony:
Reverend Mothers know better than anyone that the dead have not disappeared.
There is an element of tragedy in Leela's decision to go through the Agony. But while Rakela's bloodline has lost another lineage, it looks like the Harkanen family's ever-present bugs will come back to bite Valya and Tula. In the show's opening, it was said that it was about correcting inaccuracies in House Harkonnen's history, but the Mother Superior could be headed to her version of the Duniverse Macbeth.
