Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE! to shut down on March 31 in Japan and Globally on May 31, 2024

Love Live School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE, the rhythm game from Bushiroad announces the end of service will shut down in Japan on March 31, 2024, and globally on May 31, 2024. Surprisingly, despite not being released globally until now, the developers have decided to launch the game in February 2024 and run it for three months before the end of service.

Love Live School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE debuted after its sequel was shut down

Love Live School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE debuted in Japan on April 15, 2023. In this easy-to-use rhythm game, you can experience over 500 songs from Love Live! series. Tapping the screen to the beat reveals favorites like Bokura no LIVE Kimi to no LIFE and Aozora Jumping Heart.

The story part lets players delve into the daily lives of charming school idols through elements like Daily Life of a School Idol, chat, and Event Scenarios. Strengthening bonds and exploring newly drawn costumes are integral to the game, offering a unique and engaging experience within Love Live! universe. Sadly, we can no more experience this after March 31, 2024.

What’s more surprising is that this game, which is the sequel to Love Live School Idol which was launched on a global stage in 2014, was launched after the prequel was shut down. Whether a coincidence or intentional, the shutdown of Love Live School Idol occurred on March 31, 2023, and remarkably, the Japanese version of the sequel is set to cease operations exactly a year later.

As mentioned earlier, the launch of the global version of Love Live School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE will be in February 2024 before its shut down on May 31, 2024, with this idea of the developers to make their global version reach an audience at least. Well, this might be the first time a developer is announcing a release and shut down in the same post.
