Watery is one of the creepiest locations in Alan Wake 2. Between its empty amusement park and the ominous fog rolling in from the sea, there’s always a feeling that something isn’t right in this area. Finding ominous Nursery Rhymes set up by a mysterious government agency only increases the unsettling vibe.
Taking the time to track down and solve the Nursery Rhymes yields Bracelet Charms, which can enhance Saga’s abilities in combat. With this guide, you’ll have little trouble filling out your collection of Charms from Watery and the surrounding locations.
Forest Trail
The first time you take the forest trail in Watery, you’ll be attacked by hatchet-throwing Taken. After the fight, look for the trail to take a U-turn to the right onto the ledge that you just walked under.
There’s a Nursery Rhyme at the end of the ledge. Take the Deer and Moose Dolls from the boxes nearby. Place the Moose Doll on the Tree symbol to change the area, then pick it back up.
As you leave the area, you’ll see a moose statue along the trail that wasn’t there before. A Coffee Charm is on the base for you to collect.
Radio Tower
Continue along the trail until you can take the fork to the Radio Tower. Go past the picnic table with the radio and turn left; you’ll find another picnic area with a Nursery Rhyme setup.
Place the Deer Doll on the House to trigger a reality shift. Head back toward the safe light that you saw earlier; a pair of wolves will have appeared. Carefully defeat them – the shotgun and crossbow are best for this – then look for a dead deer.
At the deer’s feet, you’ll find the Deer Charm, which increases Saga’s stagger resistance when equipped.
Bait Shop
Once you have the Screwdriver, use it to break into the bait shop on the north side of town in Watery. Take the Maiden Doll from the kitchen counter and the Trickster Doll from the side room halfway down the hall.
At the end of the hallway is a Nursery Rhyme. Place the Maiden Doll on the House and the Trickster Doll on the Jewelry, then pick them back up. Read all the documents in the kitchen, including the emails on the computer and the printout by the window, then go outside.
A Coffee Charm will be waiting for you in the mailbox as you leave the building.
Latte Lagoon
After you’ve got the Trickster Doll, return to Coffee World and make your way to Latte Lagoon, the only attraction that isn’t required as part of the main story. The boarding pier has a Nursery Rhyme.
Place the Trickster Doll on the Jewelry, the Moose Doll on the Water, and the Deer Doll on the Boat.
When the dolls are arranged correctly, one of the boats from Latte Lagoon will start floating toward the pier. Wait for it to get close enough, then collect the Charm that it’s carrying. The Mr. Drippy Charm increases the damage that Saga deals when her health is critical.
Trailer Park Docks
This is one of the trickier Nursery Rhymes to solve, so it has its very own guide. Once the flooding recedes, and you can explore the trailer park more fully, be sure to come back for the Coffee World Charm!
Don’t forget to take the Wise Elder Doll and Bear Doll with you when you finish the puzzle.
Lighthouse
Once you have the Trickster and Wise Elder Dolls, make your way to the lighthouse at the top of the hill just outside town. Fight the Taken prowling the yard, then go around to the rear of the building.
Place the Wise Elder on the Eye and the Trickster on the Sea. A Charm will appear in the campsite at the bottom of the cliff.
Your flashlight will reveal shadowy footsteps leading down the main trail, all the way back to the road. Beware of Taken as you make your way down!
On the road, turn right when you reach the speed limit sign and follow the hidden trail to the Lighthouse Charm, which increases the amount of health you recover when entering a brightly-lit area.
Locked Trailer
Return to the Trailer Park once you have the Bolt Cutters and use them to access the fenced-off home. Inside, the room to the left has a Nursery Rhyme.
Place the Wise Elder Doll on the Eye and the Deer Doll on the Heart. A Taken Slasher will appear on the other side of the house; take him out, then collect the Deerfest Charm that he was guarding.
The Deerfest Charm slows the regeneration of enemy Darkness Shields.
Ranger Cabin
Once you have the Maiden Doll and Bear Doll, use the Screwdriver to enter the Ranger Cabin in the northwest corner of the map.
From inside the cabin, unlock the rear door to examine the Nursery Rhyme in the backyard.
There are usually wolves in the area, so it’s worth taking the time to hunt and kill them before attempting the puzzle.
Place the Maiden Doll on the Tree and the Bear Doll on the Heart, then go back inside the cabin. Follow the trail of black liquid upstairs to the bedroom, where you’ll find the FBC Charm. This powerful charm increases the damage dealt to enemies who are unaware of Saga’s presence.
