Honor of Kings just hit the hype button for worldwide fans. A notification regarding the change of registered region shows the aftermath of switching regions in Honor of Kings. As the game is only available for the Brazil region, others can now keep a strong hope that the title may be released globally. Switching the regions means there will be other regions added to the game soon, and also a strong possibility of global release.
Honor of Kings is a 5v5 MOBA title and it is one of the most popular games in China. The title was developed by TiMi Studios Group and published by Tencent Games. The game came out in 2015 and the global adaptation was out in 2020. Later, its global publisher Level Infinite announced that the game will be released globally under its original title by the end of 2022. It became the first mobile game to surpass $10 billion in revenue a few years back.
Changing region will make players temporarily unranked for 30 days
After receiving the notification, it is clear that you will be able to change the region from where you first registered. Switching the region will keep you out of the ranked matches for 30 days. After the period is over, you’ll be ranked on the changed country/region. But it is unclear whether if players are not ranked for 30 days, their game data will be saved and then ranked accordingly after the period is over.
Or, their ranking will start from what it was before the location or region change. Besides, changing the region/country will also affect you in losing the chatting channel. After you change your rank, the chatting channels will also be shifted to the new regions. Meaning that you’ll have to use the chatting channel of the new region/country.
Moreover, you’ll lose the events as well and you’ll see events based on the new country or region. The game also sets a limit within which you would not be able to change the region again. For the players who tend to change their regions frequently, the game set a 180-day limit. Once the region is changed, players will not be able to shift to another region before they cross 180 days.
Honor of Kings is the official title used in China while the rest of the world is using a different adaptation of it named Arena of Valor. But, the game tends to make a shift to the world outside China using the official name. Thus, Honor of Kings opened an exclusive Brazil server and released the game in the respective country.
