Diehard fans of Fortnite always wait eagerly for the game to launch its new chapters and seasons. This is because Epic Games tries out different themes and storylines for each update and it keeps the players hooked on to the game. Since Fortnite was released back in 2017, it gained the most popularity during Chapter 1 Season 5, and Season 6. Since then even though the game still sees a huge number of players coming back to the game to play it regularly, they couldn’t pull their best numbers anymore. So for Chapter 4 Season 5, the developers decided to bring back the original battle map to the game. These updates caused a huge spike in players wanting to play Fortnite OG and thus caused login issues in turn.
The update has brought almost triple the daily traffic in Fortnite
Fortnite is one of the most popular games in the world as it has a big player base that logs into the game regularly to play it even though it does not have the same level of popularity amongst players as it used to anymore.. According to an unofficial state site of Fortnite known as Fortnite.GG, the 24-hour peak of the game reached 5.7 million concurrent players which on around 2 million concurrent players normally when an average is taken for most of September and October.
The game witnessed the previous highest hike during the launch of its Chapter 4 Season 4 in August. During that time, the number of concurrent players for a peak of 24 hours only rose to only 2.8 million. The developers of the game most likely had the idea to go back to the most popular time of its lifespan Epic Games recently had various financial struggles which even forced them to lay off 830 employees. Well, whatever the reason might be for the Chapter 1 map to come back, it seems like the plan to bring back the game’s popularity is working pretty well.
The CEO of the company, Tim Sweeney also admitted in an internal memo that, “while Fortnite is starting to grow again, the growth is driven primarily by creator content with significant revenue sharing, and this is a lower margin business than we had when Fortnite Battle Royale took off and began funding our expansion.”
How to bypass the login queue in Fortnite OG
It is not uncommon for players to face issues while starting Fortnite when a new season launches every time. But this time round because of the more than normal influx of players to the game, players are having more difficulty logging into Fortnite OG and are facing various issues.
If you are one of those players who also can’t wait to get back on the OG island and start playing, this is one way to bypass the login queue in Fortnite but it does not guarantee success.
This method solely depends on luck and timing, so there’s still a pretty big chance that you might still be stuck in the queue. But for those who want to try it, all you have to do is close the application and reopen it again. This resets the queue waiting time in Fortnite and if you are lucky you will head straight to the lobby of Fortnite OG and will be able to dive in and play in your favorite map once again.
