Plush guards Asan and Manfred are shown

Key conclusions

  • Sanshee has introduced Manfred and Assan plushies and pins, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard is just over a week away.
  • Manfred's plush design didn't sit well with Dragon Age fans, and not just because it costs $41.99.
  • The Assan plush design is much more popular despite costing the same. Pre-orders for both are now open.

Halloween is almost here and for many of you this year that means one thing and one thing only – Dragon Age: The Veilguard is just over a week away. Ahead of the highly-anticipated launch, Sanshee has revealed several plushes and pins that are available for pre-order ahead of The Veilguard's release. However, some Dragon Age fans aren't too impressed with Manfred's plush design.

The news that two Dragon Age characters had been turned into merchandise ready for The Veilguard was shared on the series' subreddit, and the excitement of realizing that Manfred and Asan were now plushies quickly turned to disappointment for many of you. Many responses to the post noted that Manfred's plush doesn't exactly reflect the in-game design of the skeletal sidekick.

A new companion arrives and she already has her own statue.

Some describe Sanshee's Manfred plush as having a “low-effort” look, and while it costs $41.99 paired with a matching pin, it's no surprise that quite a few people seem to pass it up. It has been noted that while Manfred's plush doesn't necessarily match how he looks in the games, he does follow the “humanoid template” that Sanshee uses for most of his other plush biped characters.

Sanshi turned Manfred and Asan into buns and pins

Despite that the plush and studded Assan set is just as expensive like the unpopular Manfred, Dragon Age fans don't seem to have such a problem with what Sanshi did to Veilgard's gryphon. Unbound by the limitations of human form, Sanshee's Assan plush is much more unique and closer to what the creature will look like in The Veilguard. Nothing but positive response to the Assan plush as far as I can see from people willing to pay the high price for it.
