Optimized PC graphics settings for Red Dead Redemption

Quick links

Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PC more than 14 years after its initial release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Although many players assumed that their modern hardware could easily handle this 7th generation game, they were surprised by its unexpectedly high system requirements.

Version for computer Red Dead Redemption includes a number of visual tweaks that players can tweak for optimal performance. The guide below provides recommended settings to make your trip through the Wild West as smooth as possible.

Red Dead Redemption: How long to complete (and main mission list)

Red Dead Redemption has 57 main missions, and players will need at least several dozen hours to complete the story.

For now Red Dead Redemption may not offer as many graphical customization options as its sequel, it still provides a decent selection of key options. One of the highlights is the smoothing technology. Instead of the popular TAA found in most AAA games, players can choose between DLSS and FSR Native AA, with FXAA also available — but it's best to avoid this option for optimal visuals.

Upscaling is best used at resolutions higher than 1080p, as enabling it at 1080p can make the game look blurry.
