Oda finally revealed who gave Luffy his food in the Egghead War

Egghead Island Arc One Piece was phenomenal from start to finish, and while it wasn't a major arc like the likes of Wano Country or The Paramount War, this arc gave fans more than they expected. Fans were expecting a fairly slow arc considering it was the beginning of the Final Saga, and they were quite surprised when Oda decided to raise the stakes through the roof and did a nervy arc right from the start.

Egghead ended up being one of the best arcs ever One Pieceif not the best, and a lot of that has to do with the incredible battle between pirates and navy that took place on the island. Of course, Luffy has fought major battles here, and he's tapped Gear 5 a few times. While Luffy has shown his true strength on Egghead, as expected, he's also lost multiple times. Interestingly, someone had been helping Luffy all along on Egghead, and Oda finally revealed that person's identity, or at least heavily hinted at it.

The Egghead Island arc saw Luffy fight using all of his powers. From the beginning, Luffy used the incredible power of Gear 5 when he fought Luchi. This battle didn't last long and she saw Luffy make quick work of him. However, the real battle began when Admiral Kizaru came to Egghead and Luffy began to fight against him. Luffy began the battle against Kizaru in gear 4. However, he quickly realized that gear 4 would not be enough and that he needed to use a stronger power. Interestingly, even before Luffy started the fight, he was seriously injured due to the Border Dome. Naturally, Luffy had to resort to Gear 5 so he could get through it.

It should be noted that going through the dome twice meant that Luffy took a significant amount of damage and wasn't fighting at his best. Meanwhile, Kizaru's goal was not to fight Luffy, but to kill Vegapunk. This battle was incredibly exciting from start to finish and Luffy showed the fans a lot of tricks using the Gear 5.

He had also seen him completely overcome Kizaru and the difference in strength was very apparent. Eventually, Luffy delivered the powerful White Star Gun directly to Kiza's head, knocking him down. At the same time, Luffy himself lost Gear 5 and collapsed. This battle was intense, but more than that, it showed fans that Luffy is now strong enough to take down admirals and even stronger opponents. But, in the process, Luffy was also beaten. ​​​​​​While many fans considered this battle a draw, given the fact that Luffy had to go through the dome twice, it could be said that he was the stronger of the two, while Kizaru was the first of the two to fall.

After his battle with Kizaru, Luffy was knocked unconscious and unable to move. In fact, Saturn tried to kill him, and if it wasn't for Franky, Luffy would have died for sure. Immediately after, Saturn ordered the guards to kill Luffy, but it was then that he noticed that Luffy was eating a lot of food. As Luffy ate a lot of food, he was able to regain his strength and thus go back to using the Gear 5. This led to Luffy once again reaching the peak of his power, and he fought against Kizaru and Saturn at the same time.

From that point on, Luffy made extensive use of the power of the Gear 5, and it's safe to say that he did. But fans just couldn't forget who gave Luffy the food. It must be remembered that Luffy was in a very difficult position and could have died on the spot. If it weren't for this mysterious helper, Luffy would probably have a much harder time surviving. As seen from Oda's response, the one who gave Luffy the food was none other than Kizaru. Why did he give him food, the answer is clear. Kizaru believes in an obscure justice. Naturally, many fans point to the fact that Kizaru gave Luffy the food means that he could have moved in and essentially ended the battle with Luffy by killing him. To many, this means that Kizaru was the winner of the fight. However, this is not entirely true. The fact is that Luffy never fought Kizaru to the best of his ability. As fans know, Luffy didn't use the power of Supreme King Haki throughout this fight, that is until the very end, when he knocked Kizara down and rendered him unable to move for a long time.

Moreover, it should also be remembered that even though Kizaru was getting food from Luffy, there is absolutely no indication that he had enough power to kill Luffy. In the end, the White Star Gun really didn't affect Kizara badly considering he himself announced that he saw stars. At this point, Kizaru was injured and unable to use his powers to their full potential. Sure, he could move and get food for Luffy, but no one can say for sure if he had enough to destroy Luffy.

Also, fans know that just because Luffy doesn't move doesn't necessarily mean he can't move. Normally, when Luffy is surrounded by other people, he rests as much as possible to get as much energy as possible and leaves the job of protecting him to others. If he had to, Luffy would probably move and dodge the battle. But more than that, fans know for sure that Luffy, who was nerfed twice by the Frontier Dome barrier and later by Oda himself, making sure he didn't use Supreme King Haki against Kizaru, didn't lose that battle.
