Oda confirms Akainu's Yonko-level status

One Piece Another Vivre Card set was released recently, and it's safe to say that fans were given a lot of incredible information here. Among the many exciting tidbits that fans found, Oda also talked about the awards of many members of the Marine Corps. As fans already know, after the creation of the Crusader Guild, most except the Navy members received high bounties, and later in the Egghead Island arc, many of these bounties were revealed to the fans. However, most of them remained unknown, that is, until the Vivre Card set was published.

Now most of these awards have been open to fans and some of the highest include the Admirals and of course Admiral of the Fleet awards. Akainu's award in particular turned out to be quite shocking, and fans are already claiming that Akainu is on the same level as Yonka, if not higher.

In the latest Vivre Card set One PieceOda revealed that Akainu's prize is a staggering 5 billion berries. In the guild's gross reward system, Akainu's reward is five crowns. This may surprise some, but it makes perfect sense to others. Each admiral in the ranks of the navy has a reward of three crowns. So it makes sense for a fleet admiral to get an even bigger bonus. Naturally, the fleet admiral was always going to get a bigger reward, and it turns out that he has a reward of five crowns, which translates to 5 billion berries.

No pirate will prosper while I'm here! – Akainu

That's a pretty staggering amount, and it's actually in the same league as the legend rewards One Piece of the world, such as Roger and Whitebeard. In fact, they are the only three people in the One Piece world known to have at least 5 billion berries. Of course, the one with the least reward of them all is Sakuzuki, followed by Whitebeard, and the one with the most reward of them all is none other than Roger, the Pirate King. Undoubtedly, being placed on the same level as these legends means that his power is at least comparable to Yonka. It is debatable whether the power is higher than Yonko's, but fans can say that his award is definitely deserved considering his high position.

Unfortunately, the former Marine Admiral Sengoku's award was not revealed to fans. However, his reward will probably also be around 5 billion berries. This is because Sengoku also held the position of Admiral of the Fleet, and like Sakazuki, his reward should also be 5 kroner. This is also supported by the fact that all admirals in the naval ranks have the same reward regardless of how high or low their strength is. Barring old age and retirement playing a factor, Sengoku should have the same premium as Sakuzuki, to say the least.

Now that Akainu has been confirmed to have received 5 billion berries in One Piece, fans are already debating whether he has Yonko status or not. Akainu has always been known to be strong. Fans knew he was a perfect match for the Yonko of the One Piece world, and it was even shown to them in the Paramount War Arc. In this arc, he went one-on-one with Whitebeard and did well. Of course, this came after Whitebeard was already injured and on the verge of dying due to illness, but fans know that Akainu stood up to him more than well. He went blow after blow against him and even dealt him some of the worst injuries he had ever had. This was proof that Sakazuki was incredibly strong. If that wasn't enough to convince fans, there's also the fact that Admiral Sakazuki made all the Blackbeard pirates flee to the New World.

Obviously, Sakazuki has always had a status comparable to Yonko. As a fleet admiral, he is quite aggressive in his approach to chasing down pirates, and it was clear to fans that he would not take them lightly. He established a marine headquarters in the New World, something no admiral of the fleet had done before. Akainu vowed to destroy all pirates, even ones like Yonka, who were not normally touched by the fleet.

This move is indicative of his rather aggressive approach and his battle for dominance with Yonko. There's no doubt that his Yonko status has already been confirmed, and 2 years after the Main War, he should be stronger than ever before.

Can Akainu measure up to the Elites in the last saga?

Akainu didn't have much to do in the Final Saga of One Piecebut it goes without saying that he should be on par with the elites. This should come as no surprise to any fan. He was already very powerful before the timeskip, but now he should be even stronger. After all, he is one of the main antagonists that Luffy will have to face at some point in the story, and when that moment comes, he should be strong enough to stand up to him.

Fans know that Akainu has a very powerful Devil Fruit. His Magu Magu no Mi is considered to be one of the strongest Devil Fruits, and this fruit has a destructive power of the highest level that can only be matched by the Gura Gura no Mi. This makes his Devil Fruit one of the most devastating in the entire series. At the same time, he also needs a powerful Haki of two types, which is known to be observational and a weapon. Fans should also look forward to several advanced types of Haki. Most of all, Akainu is known to not have Conqueror's Haki, at least not yet. However, given that the former Sengoku Fleet Admiral had a powerful Conqueror's Haki, Akainu should have it as well. With all these powers up his sleeve, fans can expect Akainu to be as strong as Yonka and one of the elites to push Luffy in the final saga.
