I was the owner of the season for the Half-Life 3 Copium train as a kid. I rolled out loans in the second episode when I was only seven years old, and I even remember how I turned to my dad and said something like a soul like: “I can't wait to find out what's next.” I'm sorry for the Half-Life community but I could go.
The following was that the unhealthy obsession, which covered the decades, like me, like many others, overcame each leak, datamine and interview, hoping only on the crumb. You might think that after countless false flags and canceled projects, I would learn to quench my expectations. How many Tyler McVicker videos can I shoot up before I start feeling that I am a day -to -do video game wise that just won't grow up? Too much.
However, when “HLVR” is traced actually Survaries, and Alix was discovered, the years of waiting rose, and the timer reset. So, when “HLX” came and rumors about Half-Life 3 are approaching completion, I am not shy.

But I never thought that Half-Life can run formerly GTA 6 or The Elder Scrolls 6, two series that I was sure will still receive the following events.

It used to be that if anyone left about to wait four to five years for continuation, you would get the nest of an ant fans of the half-life who crawled out of the dirt to ask, “The first time?”. The community spent longer, waiting for a new game than when -did something played in the originals.
But now all waiting. Skyrim came out in 2011, which means that the supporters of the older scrolls remained on Tenterhooks for almost a decade who fed just an ineffective CG mountain range and diet remaster. The GTA 5 came out a couple of years later in 2013, and the expectation was so cruel for society that they went to complete quotation, analyzing each frame of each trailer hoping to hack a one -sided flaw. They even studied the lunar cycles. Okay, maybe only one – the first time?
Development times flew off, and with studios such as Bethesda and Rockstar, alternate between different projects such as Starfield and Red Dead, it expects IPS expectations like “Elder Scrolls” and GTA, feel much longer. There was a 13-year gap between Half-Life 2: Episode Second and Alyx, but the gap between Skyrim and TES 6 is longer. Our suffering is no longer unique, this is exactly how the industry is.
And now that GTA 6 has been pushing for another year, waiting between GTA 5 and approximately at the same time when Half-Life fans were waiting for a new record. This devastating break, which was once so bad that “Half-Life 3 confirmed” and “Valve cannot take into account up to 3”, has become enough that Gabe actively avoided this number, now just nominal for the course. But, fortunately, Half-Life looks like away from this trend.
When it launches this year, it feels more likely, because it is reportedly played “end -to -end” and again with the fact that Shapiro teased on Twitter, we only expect five years from the date of Alix. Of course, this sounds like this is the end of the history of Gordon and maybe even for the half-life-but we get permission, and it took a decade to get so far.
I'm not so sure that the rest of the industry will match its pace, the more than the Bethesda will be busy Fallout 5 and probably Starfield 2 after TES 6, and Rockstar, maybe a new red dead (or bully!) After GTA 6, stretching the waiting between games in generations. At this point, I suppose until the 50s by the time the Grand Theft Auto 7 rolls around.
Once the southern period was the worst scenario, but for some industry legends it quickly becomes a typical thematic study.
