Playtonic Games once again teased that the upcoming Yooka-Replaylee coming to the Switch 2 console. Yooka-Replayleefor the uninitiated, this is an extensive 2017 remaster Yuka-Layliherself the spiritual successor of beloved Rare Banjo kazoo franchise.
Yooka-Replaylee was announced last summer, and Playtonic eventually confirmed that the game would be coming to an unnamed Nintendo console. It is clear what this means Yooka-Replaylee is in development for the Switch 2, which has yet to be officially unveiled by Nintendo. Now Playtonic has teased again Yooka-Replaylee for Switch 2 with a clever tweet promoting the upcoming remaster.

Yooka-Replaylee Hands-On: A Rare Love Letter Rewritten
Yooka-Replaylee will be the final version of the game if Playtonic continues to go in this direction, but it needs some tweaking.
In a recent tweet, Playtonic demonstrated Yooka-ReplayleeMeeting with Rampo and reminded fans about the platforms on which the new game is released. The tweet reads: “Yooka-Replaylee coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series and,” cutting off at the very end. While some may chalk this up to a simple social media glitch, it's clearly another hint that the game will be coming to the Switch 2 console.
As of this writing, the Switch 2 has yet to be announced. Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch 2 is backwards compatible and will use the same internet service as its predecessor, but hasn't revealed what the console looks like or even what its official name will be. Despite the secrecy surrounding the Switch 2, various developers have announced that they are making games for the platform.

The first game confirmed for the Switch 2 was an RPG Bestiaryand then a life sim RPG My time at Evershinewhich was successfully funded on Kickstarter. Yooka-Replaylee has also thrown its hat into the ring, although we have no idea when exactly any of these games will be coming to Nintendo's new console. It's possible that these will be launch titles, but it's also possible that they'll be released later in the device's lifetime.
It all really depends on when specifically Switch 2 released. As it stands, Nintendo has promised to launch the Switch 2 by April 2025, but has not confirmed when the console will actually hit store shelves. More information on that front should be forthcoming once Nintendo actually reveals the Switch 2 to the masses.
