Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1 maps may be just what the game needs
The first season Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to launch on November 14, starting with the content of the battle pass, bringing BO6 weapons and movement to Warzoneand even introducing a brand new Zombies map. In addition, some new party game modes are expected to be dropped during the first season, and three new main multiplayer maps are already in the spotlight.
One of those maps is Extraction, an unusually open-ended experience set in a coastal helipad. Aside from the ambitious open spaces that will be perfect for long-range combat, Extraction still seems to feature a lot of verticality in the scattered buildings that favor melee combat, which Black Ops 6 is already becoming known. It is confirmed that the extraction is set within the limits Black Ops 6the fictional city-state of Avalon, meaning this location may even appear as a POI on the rumored large-scale map of Avalon Warzone in the near future.
Black Ops 6 season one maps continue the trend of small maps
Next, Call Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce the Heirloom map in the first season, also set in Avalon. Unlike the open spaces of Extraction, Heirloom is set in the winding corridors of an art gallery, offering intense close-quarters encounters more suited to Black Ops 6shotguns and newly improved SMGs. While some fairways and corridors may offer strong corners for more powerful ranged weapons, it seems that Heirloom may be one of Black Ops 6the most chaotic maps to date.
Finally the first season Black Ops 6 a Hideout map will also be added. Hideout is another smaller experience in the BO6a pool of cards that take place in a makeshift base of operations in an abandoned complex of buildings. Looks like Hideout is coming Call of DutyA traditional three-lane map approach, making it unique compared to games like Extraction and Heirloom, and offering a nice mix of experiences for the first season overall.
Launch card pool Black Ops 6 has already faced criticism for its lack of a three-lane structure and the small size of most of the locations involved, and it looks like Hideout and Heirloom will continue this smaller-scale trend. With that being said, Black Ops 6 kicks off its post-launch seasons with three brand new maps, meaning the game will hopefully have a huge variety of experiences as these seasons continue.
