NetherRealm has a long history with Deadly battle franchise. After Midway Games is the developer behind the original Deadly battle series – declared bankruptcy in February 2009, Warner Bros. acquired many of the company's assets, including the Chicago-based studio Midway, which was quickly renamed NetherRealm Studios. Released in 2011 under a new name and publisher, NetherRealm Deadly battle a reboot that reignited the spark of the fighting game franchise. But together with Deadly battle continued, NetherRealm tried their hand at creating another successful series of fighting games: Injustice.
Issued in 2013 and 2017 respectively Injustice games have done a great job of capturing the essence of the DC Universe and its colorful cast of heroes and villains, so much so that fans have been asking NetherRealm to do the same with Marvel for quite some time now. If NetherRealm ever wanted to test the waters for a Marvel fighting game, it could easily do so with Deadly battle guest fighter.

Seven years have passed since the last highway Marvel vs. Capcom game has been released, and even longer since Marvel's solo fighting game hit the scene. Deadly battle has the power to end this dry spell and in the process finally test the waters for the long-requested Marvel fighting game developed by NetherRealm. If the reception to the episodic Marvel fighter in the Deadly battle was positive, then NetherRealm will have a much clearer idea of whether or not they should pursue a full-fledged Marvel fighting game.
Lots of Marvel characters would fit the tone and style of Mortal Kombat
As a full-scale Marvel Universe fighting game from NetherRealm, it will probably aim for a lower age rating than Deadly battlethis hypothetical cameo would be the perfect opportunity to add one of Marvel's more overtly violent characters, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Both Deadpool and Wolverine would be great choices for Deadly battle guest fighter, especially after the success of their recent MCU outing.
Daredevil and The Punisher would also be great choices for Deadly battlegiven that their movesets are pretty basic. A Daredevil or Punisher cameo would also go well with the upcoming one Daredevil: Born Again The Disney+ show is scheduled to premiere in March 2025. There are also countless Marvel villains Deadly battle can draw from the likes of Carnage, Sabretooth, or Bullseye, all of which are known to be violent in their source material.
