knowledge
The Deadly battle The franchise is known for its many god and ninja characters, including the latest entry, Mortal Kombat 1. However, starting with the original Deadly battleeach game over thirty years later repeats the pattern of including characters who turn out to be monsters.
Thanks Deadly battle games that take place on Earth, Outer World, Nether Realm and other fantastic places, fans encountered many kinds of creatures. They've been heroes, villains, and even something in between, and some have become iconic characters in the beloved fighting game franchise.
8 Motoro
A powerful centaur that rarely appears in games
- It first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3
- Race: Centaur
The original sub-boss Mortal Kombat 3Motoro is a centaur, but he is not the typical half-man-half-horse seen in fantasy stories. Instead, Motoro has a cybernetic tail and goat horns on his head, resulting in a creature that eats the player like candy when Mortal Kombat 3 was in the arcades.
Although he only appeared a few times, Motaro's centaur design turned him into a fan favorite character. Especially since he can shoot lasers from his tail and teleport, towering over most characters in the game. Motoro recently came back online Mortal Kombat 1 as one of the many Kameo fighters that players can summon into battle.
7 Anaga
The original Dragon King deserves a comeback
- It first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Deception
- Race: Dragon
The First Emperor of the Outer World before Shao Kahn, Onaga is a dragon-like humanoid who was the main antagonist Mortal Kombat: Deception. He quickly terrified the fans by killing not only Quan Chi and Shang Tsung like they were nothing to him, but also Raiden.
With one of the most famous story modes in the franchise, Anaga emerges as a threat that even Shao Kahn fears. Its design is unlike any other in the series, and Deception fans can attest to the fact that it remains the last boss to throw off controllers due to its multitude of unblockable attacks that can eliminate a player in just a few hits.
6 Barack
A prolific thug who has been on the sidelines for years
- It first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2
- Race: Tarkatan
Appeared in almost every game since his debut in Mortal Kombat IIBaraka has had many ups and downs as a character. He became a beloved character thanks to his signature blades, rows of razor-sharp teeth, and grotesquely terrifying face. Unfortunately, the stories often reduce him to a common villain working for other villains.
Baraka has always featured memorable gameplay that usually focused on quick combos and special moves using blades, which left many wishing he was treated better. Fortunately, the developers listened to the fans and with Mortal Kombat 11 and especially Mortal Kombat 1Baraka and his Tarkatan race became a staple of the franchise.
5 Sheeva
A warrior who went from C-Lister to A-Lister
- It first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3
- Race: Shokan
After Goro introduced the Shokan racing concept to gamers in the original Deadly battleSheeva was presented in Mortal Kombat 3 to expand on this concept. Female Shokan uses many of the same attacks and special moves as Horus, as well as some of her own, often making her a force to be reckoned with.
Over the years, Shiva continued to perform in the Deadly battle games, becoming more prolific than the more famous Prince Shokan. Shiva even became one of the best characters in Mortal Kombat 11with more gameplay and story depth than ever before.
4 D'Vora
Created a legacy from assassinations of legacy characters
- It first appeared in Mortal Kombat X
- Race: Kytinn
Reminds me of something straight out of David Cronenburg A flyKytinn, nicknamed D'Vorah, first appeared in Mortal Kombat X and quickly took the show by storm. Fans have never seen a character like D'Vorah before, so she's back in Mortal Kombat 11.
In the canon a Deadly battleD'Vora became infamous among fans for killing off many beloved characters, including Milina and Hanzo Hasashi, aka Scorpion. However, this infamy has led to her being one of the many popular requests for an upcoming DLC character Mortal Kombat 1.
3 Milena
Fans are obsessed with Princess of the Outer Worlds
- It first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2
- Race: Edennian/Tarkatan Hybrid (original), Outworlder (new era)
Although she may appear to be an Edenian at first glance, Milena is actually a hybrid made with Tarkatan blood. Milena was originally a clone of Kitana created by Shang Tsung but Mortal Kombat 1 portrays her as Kitana's twin sister who suffers from a disease thanks to convenient time travel. In both versions, Milina has red eyes and sharp teeth that even the deadliest fighters are afraid to step on.
Milena helped Deadly battle achieved its cult status thanks to its brutal combat with sai as its weapon of choice and its teeth, resulting in some of the most gruesome casualties in the franchise's history. Fans loved Milina so much that they caused controversy when she was not at first Mortal Kombat 11 character list.
2 Reptile
From secret fighter to iconic reptilian warrior
- It first appeared in Deadly battle (1992)
- Race: Zaterran
Also known as Syzoth, Reptile started out as a secret boss fight in the original Deadly battle before becoming a recurring base roster character in almost every game since. There wasn't much to do story-wise for the transterranean warrior Mortal Kombat 1 rebooted him to be a much more complex character.
Reptile has always shone with its abilities and visual style in both design and gameplay. He started off as a repainted Scorpion, but as the game progressed the developers embraced his reptilian side more and more, with acid powers, tongue attacks, and devouring enemies as iconic victims.
1 Haro
A monster that was there from the beginning
- It first appeared in Deadly battle (1992)
- Race: Shokan
Before the fight with Shang Tsung in the original Deadly battlethe challenge was to first get past Horus, Prince of the Shockans. With four arms, Horus has been the bane of many gamers across games, as he is immune to knockbacks, throws, and can break any player attack thrown at him.
Shokan's design has always appealed to fans, leading to the creation of other characters, including Shiva and Kintaro. Thanks to the 1995 film, Horus even entered into a famous rivalry with none other than Johnny Cage, and remains the most iconic monster, as shown by his being a pre-order bonus character for Mortal Kombat X.
