Rivals of Marvel has flaunted its listing as a major selling point since its inception. Even after launch, the hype surrounding the new characters continued to dominate most discussions surrounding the game. The leaks seemingly caught the trail of several upcoming characters, which only fueled the speculation even more. Many players have posted fan lists to join the conversation, and it's undeniable that Rivals of Marvel overflowing with potential.
Despite all the praise, the game is not without its flaws. Rivals of Marvel there's a lack of role-playing of any kind, and while that's not necessarily a drawback, it does happen to exacerbate the one-sided nature of the game's current roster. Rivals of Marvel duelists dominate, while strategists and vanguards are in dire need of new additions. Fortunately, there are more than a few characters in the Marvel multiverse that can rise to the occasion.

Marvel Rivals Strategist Wish List
While Marvel Rivals may have over 30 heroes to choose from, the role of strategist in the game has a ton of potential to grow with many iconic Marvel characters.
Marvel Rivals could have huge potential with the upcoming Vanguard heroes
Ms. Marvel could offer an avant-garde version of Stretchy Powers
Ms. Marvel is one of the most popular characters introduced by Marvel in recent years, making her a possible inclusion in Rivals of Marvel feel predestined. Leaks showed that Mr. Fantastic will be playable Rivals of Marveland one would think that the similarities between Ms. Marvel's powers might disqualify her. However, developers still have many options to highlight Ms. Marvel and give Rivals of Marvel the vanguard he needs.
While Mr. Fantastic's abilities mostly revolve around stretching, Ms. Marvel herself describes her ability as “Embiggening”. This can easily cause her body to bulk up to block damage as well as give herself extra health. Ms. Marvel could also control crowds with her Embiggening powers, pulling enemies close to her allies to finish them off or stunning them with a single swing of her giant fist.
Ghost Rider can take revenge on enemy duelists
At first glance, it might seem that the Ghost Rider is better suited to the role of a pest Rivals of MarvelDuelists. However, Ghost Rider's most iconic abilities are much more reminiscent of the traditional duties of a tank. Ghost Rider can easily inspire a unique design and comes from a corner of the Marvel multiverse that definitely deserves more representation in Rivals of Marvel.
Ghost Rider is commonly known as Spirit of Vengeance, and this could be the perfect inspiration for his kit in Rivals of Marvel. Ghost Rider could use his Repentance Gaze to punish enemies who defeated his teammates and potentially even resurrect a teammate. Ghost Rider could use his chain to pull enemies across the map, similar to Roadhog's grappling hook in Supervision.
The Sentry's inclusion in Marvel Rivals would be perfect timing
Sentry is one of many possible options for future Vanguards Rivals of Marvel. Some characters may seem to stand out more because of their unique abilities or simply because they are more famous. However, Sentry manages to rise above all else thanks to another upcoming Marvel property.
Thunderstorms* includes Sentry among the cast and is currently slated for a May 2025 release. The potential for interaction is obvious, but the Sentry has a lot going for it beyond that. The Sentry's Superman-like abilities will be unlike anything else in the cast. Likewise, his villainous “Void” persona would be perfect material for an ultimate or alternate form, and would definitely inspire a level of intimidation befitting any Vanguard.
Marvel heroes and villains will have to fight for a spot on the Marvel Rivals roster
This is hardly the number of heroes and villains that could fit the vanguard role Rivals of Marvel. In fact, there are literally too many to name. Captain Marvel would fit right in, and it would be nice to see Ms. Marvel fight alongside her idol. There are plenty of other Marvel heroines who could also be part of the Vanguard: Armor, Hulk, and Moongirl all have defensive abilities that are perfect for the job.
Juggernaut and Colossus seem like obvious choices, with Kitty Pryde a more underrated choice for the role. Any number of Marvel villains are bulky enough to fit the Vanguard stereotype, with Dracula and Knuckles already teased Rivals of Marvel'history. Similarly, The Thing seems to have been leaked as a future Vanguard. Of course, not all of them can find their place Rivals of Marvelbut one can only hope that those who do make it will bring an extra dose of diversity to an already ambitious list.
