U Borutafans have already been introduced to quite a few new members of the Otsutsuki clan, but there seem to be a few more Otsutsuki yet to appear, and the series writer along with creator Kishimoto have already hinted at them several times.
Otsutsuki from the Boruto series
- Boruto saw the introduction of many new Otsutsuki
- Isshiki gave Naruto a strong challenge
So far, fans have seen quite a few representatives of the Otsutsuki clan. The very first to be introduced in Boruto were Kinshiki and Momoshiki. They appeared in Naruto: Boruto the movieand were created by Kishimoto personally. When it comes to these two, fans know that Kinshiki was the weaker of the two and Momoshiki was the stronger one. Naturally, the fight between these Otsutsuki clan members and the Shinobi took place later in Boruto's line, and resulted in the defeat of none other than the Otsutsuki clan. The Otsutsuki ended up being defeated in battle by the likes of Naruto and Sasuke. Fans know that after Momoshiki's defeat, he inscribed his Karma on Boruto Uzumaki, and from there Boruto pushed Otsutsuki's storyline through a new manga written by Ikemoto and directed by Kishimoto.

Boruto then introduced two new Otsutsuki, but only one of them is canon to the manga, and that person is none other than Ishiki. He was featured as the main antagonist of the story and his battles against Naruto and Sasuke were definitely enjoyed by the fans to the fullest. Fans learned that Ishiki was betrayed by Kaguya and had to play his cards very carefully to regain his full power. His plan was to take over Kawaka's body and eventually use that body to be reborn into his true form and even eat the chakra fruit to gain higher power. Compared to the likes of Kaguya and the others, Ishiki was on a completely different level.
In fact, it was officially confirmed that Isiki was older and likely stronger in many ways than Kaguya. Everything about him was absolutely incredible and his power was such that even Naruto and Sasuke combined could not defeat him. Of course, in order to defeat him, Naruto had to access a higher form of power that came through Baryon Mode. Using the power of Baryon Mode, Naruto defeated him and finished the job. For fans, this felt like the end of the Otsutsuki seen on planet Earth.
However, after Isika's defeat, Kawaki had other plans. After seeing Ishiki's defeat, he personally wanted to purge the lot of Otsutsuki, including his own brother Boruto Uzumaki. This means that there is more Otsutsuki left in the Boruto series and it was directly hinted by the author in Boruto chapter 35.
Kishimoto hints at two more unknown Otsutsukis
Two more Otsutsuki symbols were discovered
U Boruta In Chapter 35, which took place shortly before the battle between Jigen and the duo of Naruto and Sasuke, Sasuke visited the dimension where the Ten-Tails were in order to sneak up on Jigen. At the same time, there were symbols of the Otsutsuki clan on the wall. The first two characters belong to none other than Momoshiki and Kinshiki. This was evident from the horn patterns painted on the walls. The one at the bottom, on the far left, belonged to Kinshiki, and the one above him was none other than Momoshiki.

Two more pictures were observed in the middle. Here, the top one belonged to Ishiki Otsutsuki, as was clear from the horn-shaped pattern, and the one below belonged to none other than Kagui. However, much to the fans' surprise, there was another duo to the right of this pair, and both of their symbols were completely destroyed. It was unclear who these two were, and fans still haven't found an answer to this question. These two will definitely be relevant in the future of Boruto, especially since they are hinted at in the story and the author is clearly building them up as the main villains going forward.

Boruta uses his grandfather Minato's Flying God of Thunder ability. Kishimoto shows how Boruto learned to use it.
Of course, the author had shown them vaguely in the manga, and there were no questions about them at the time, which had a lot to do with Jigen's threat looming. However, if you go through Boruto's story again, it's pretty easy to see that these two Otsutsuki will play some kind of big role going forward. For now, there is one that can match the requirements of these two newly introduced monsters, and it is none other than Shibai Otsutsuki.
Will another Otsutsuki appear in Boruto?
The nameless Otsutsuki disappeared into Boruto
As fans know, Shibai is someone who will make an appearance one way or another Boruta. He is by far the strongest person in the entire franchise, and this was proven by the fact that he even left his physical body and ascended to godhood. Shibai had eaten so many chakra fruits that his techniques had evolved to the level of shinjutsu and he had essentially reached a state where he exists beyond mortality. Shibai's powerful jutsu makes him the most powerful human to ever exist in the series, meaning he could potentially be one of the two Otsutsuki teased in Chapter 35 of the series.
But, at the same time, fans know that there is another Otsutsuki, given that Shibai also traveled as a pair. This means that there is another Otsutsuki that fans have yet to see in the Boruto series besides Shibai. This Otsutsuki may appear later in the series and play the role of the main villain. In fact, there's a chance that even Shibai will show up later and play a big part in the story in one way or another. This would give Boruto and Kawaki main villains to team up against and even create an enemy to fight against as well with the likes of Naruto and Sasuke. Hopefully, fans will be satisfied with what happens in the future regarding Otsutsuki.
Boruto is available to read through Viz Media. Fans can read the series officially and for free on the Shonen Jump app and Manga Plus. The next Boruto chapter, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 17, is scheduled for release on December 20, 2024.
