Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games have confirmed four new playable characters for the upcoming game Star Wars. Episode 1: Battles for Jedi Power remaster: Rifle Droid, Staff Tusken Raider, Ishi Tib and Mercenary. Star Wars. Episode 1: Battles for Jedi Power was originally released back in 2000, and takes place at the same time as A ghostly threat. It was originally developed by LucasArts and released for the original PlayStation and later for the Dreamcast. It's a mix of platformer and beat-em-up, and it's also a co-op multiplayer game for two players.
Following on from other reissues done by the studio before, Aspyr has announced a remastering Jedi Power Battles earlier this October, bringing the classic game to modern hardware including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The remaster will have updated graphics, upgraded controls and all levels unlocked. This remastering will also be based on the Sega Dreamcast version, which includes training and confrontation modes, and will be released in January 2025. 2025 version Jedi Power Battles will also feature several playable characters that were not present in the original release.

Jedi Power Battles allows players to choose between several iconic A ghostly threat characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Mace Windu among many others. These four characters, the Marksman Droid, Tusken State Raider, Ishi Tib, and Nymith are much less iconic, more like faceless pawns, but each has their own unique attributes.

While the player usually fights with gun droids Jedi Power Battlesthe game droid is on the player's side, having the ability to use ranged attacks. Staff Tusken Raiders are melee fighters who use their signature staff. The character of Isha Tib, unlike the other two characters mentioned above, focuses on being a melee fighter. The last character revealed so far is Mercenary, an enemy first created for 1999 Star Wars. Episode 1: The Phantom Menace adaptation of the game, which then appeared as an enemy in the Jedi Power Battles. The remaster means that this enemy will be a playable character for the first time in a Star Wars game
Aspyr points out that these aren't the only new playable characters in the future Jedi Power Battles remaster, with more characters to be revealed as the release date approaches. Based on previous characters in the game, the rifle droid will likely play similar to Queen Amidala and Captain Panaka, who both wielded rifles. Tusken Raider could also be based on Jedi fighters, while Ishi Tib and Mercenary would probably be more unique.
