TEHRAN: Iran said on Saturday it expected the Tehran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah group to strike deeper into Israel and no longer limit itself to military targets after Israel killed a Hezbollah military commander. Hezbollah has exchanged fire with Israeli forces on an almost daily basis, saying it is targeting military positions over the border since its Palestinian ally Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, sparking a war in Gaza. But a strike claimed by Israel in a crowded residential area of South Beirut changed the calculation, Iran's UN mission said.
