Hunter x Hunter Chapter 405: Two Hisoka

Hunter x Hunter 405 is as impressive as the previous chapters. U Enter 405, the story turns away from the storylines involving Princes Kakin and Kurapika, and instead goes back to the story of the mafia war and the ghost troupe.

This chapter sees the return of fan-favorite Hisoka as his involvement in this arc only grows. The build-up to what's to come is huge.

The real Hisoka returns

Hisoka, who was seen earlier, was Banalenov

Hunter x Hunter 405 begins with a poker game and features the return of the long-awaited character, Hisoka. Earlier in Enterfans saw what they thought was Hisoka found by Xi-Yu members Zakuro and Lynch. However, this Hisoka was a fake, meaning that Hisoka was seen for the first time in a very long time.

This chapter shows Hisoka's thoughts. It was revealed that Hisoka had no interest in fighting the Chimera Ants despite their insane power. He also wasn't interested in Hulkenburg's ability as he learned that it was a group ability and not something he could fight 1v1. Hisoka also showed that he was not interested in battlegroups or non-humans no matter how powerful they were. Hisoka wants to be able to lay waste to his enemy one on one.

I'm normal. Group play or beastly kinks do nothing for me. All I want is to destroy my partner alone. – Hisoka

Right after that, fans got to see a different Hisoka after the first Hisoka. It's not actually the real Hisoka, but Banalenau, an underrated member of the Spiders, disguised as him using his Nen ability, Metamorphosis, following Chrol's orders. Metamorphosis works by allowing Banalenovav to transform into the person he is talking to, and he can maintain that form for as long as he is face to face with that person. Banolenov also believes that he can transform for a shorter period of time for people who are shorter than him.

Crolla assigned Banalenau this risky mission to give the mafia families the impression that they had kept the balance on the Black Whale. If the mob family thinks Hisoka is under surveillance, they'll have no problem with a troupe of Phantoms roaming around. This was seen in the previous chapters when Si-Yu took in the fake Hisoke. But something went awry when Lynch, a woman with a Nen ability that forces anyone she hits and questions to answer, truthfully asked Bonalenova if he was Hisoka, to which he replied in the negative. This made Bonolenova kill her because she knew too much. However, he kept Zakuro alive because he needed him.

In the present, Banalenau has changed his disguise from Hisoka to what looks like an owl, one of the Shadow Beasts then seen in the Yorknew arc.

Chrol's hunt for Nen's powerful ability

This Nen ability will kill Hisoka forever

In Hunter x Hunter 405, Bonalenov seemed concerned about Chrol's mental state after the deaths of Shalnark and Potato. Crolla asked him to transform into Hisoka, and if he wanted to find Hisoka, transform into someone else, and most importantly, not fight him. Bonalenov was more than willing not to fight Hisoko, as he would be at a disadvantage either way.

Banolenov, however, points out that Hrola didn't mention any of this during the meeting because he probably wants to deal with Hisoka himself. Banalenov would have preferred Nobunaga and his group to deal with Hisoko due to Chrol's condition.

It's revealed that Hrolah is really looking for something on this Black Whale that will give him the power to kill Hisoka once and for all. This treasure in question definitely refers to Nen's ability that he wants to steal with Skill Hunter. What this ability is, however, is unknown, but it is possible that Togashi has already demonstrated it somehow. It's entirely possible that whatever ability Chrolo is looking for, it will be the end of him once he uses it on Hisoki. This could mean the end of the Phantom Troupe in the near future.

This chapter also shows Crolla walking alone. There was a news report on the 10th anniversary of the brutal murder of the man known as Mr Lisnorth. This person pretended to be the chairman of an organization that helped underprivileged children; however, what he really did is much darker. He was one of the men involved in the brutal murder of Sarsa, a little girl from Meteor City, whose death led to the creation of the Phantom Troupe.

This man was definitely killed by spiders in revenge 10 years ago. Crolla just thinks about how dumbfounded people are to believe that this man was a good man and everything the media says about him.

The Phantom Troupe and The Heil-Ly

U Enter 404, the last panel showed Nobunaga with his group, which includes Phaeton and Finks. They stopped their plan to go directly to the Hail-Li hideout and instead wanted to go and ask some questions of the other mob families. U Enter 405, fans see them doing just that. Nobunaga meets with Kenny Wang and Tajao, the deputy and vice boss of the Cha-R family. Nobunaga questions them about the leader of the Heil-Ly and how they function as a group. Heil-Ly was recently taken over by a new leader, Moreno, after the previous one died. Van admits that they don't know Morena enough to know her true intentions in everything that's going on, since unlike the other 2 mob families, Hale-Lee kills a lot of innocent civilians.

Nobunaga and his group realize that Hale-Lee wants to destroy everything, including everyone on that ship and mostly Kakin himself. They also conclude that they gain more power by killing people.

As the chapter ends, Tajao leads Nobunaga's group to a previously closed door – the one they said they would let them use if they truly worked together. This door is a passage between the different tiers of the Black Whale.

Hunter X Hunter Chapter 405 also shows Moreno again along with the rest of Heil-Ly. Currently, many of the members have skyrocketed, with the highest level currently being held by Dogman, who is 62 years old. It is revealed that he is able to sense a Nen-type human's scent, skills, and even completely identify him depending on how close he is to him. Moreno wants them to kidnap someone and force them to work with them, but that person is currently unknown. They don't seem to be Nen users, so it's unclear what she would want from them.
