How to use the revenge counter

As you fight countless enemies that await you Dragon Ball: Sparkling! Zeroyou'll need to learn all the different ways to dodge and block attacks. Even if you master this, you can still get into a combo pretty easily, so it's good to know how to use the Revenge Counter to avoid them and deal some damage in the process.

The revenge counter is a technique in the Dragon Ball: Sparkling! Zero which allows you to interrupt your opponent's Rush Combo or Ki Blast with your own attack. Although this can only be used when being attacked from the front, it can be a powerful last resort for escaping combos and counterattacks.

Revenge counter can be used at the cost of 2 skills whenever you are attacked from the front with a Rush Combo or Ki Blast. To activate the Revenge Counter on PS5 and Xbox, simply press the right stick (R3) while attacking. Your character will break out of the combo and land a counterattack of their own. While the Revenge Counter is powerful, it's important to note that it cannot be used unless you have at least 2 skill counts, and when you are being attacked from behind.

After a successful revenge counter, your best bet is to start your own Rush Combo, or move some distance away and do some ki blasts. While you can potentially use a grab to continue and then launch a super attack, this is riskier due to the possibility that your opponent will attempt another Rush combo after your counter attack.

It's also important to note that Revenge Counters can be interrupted with a Super Counter, which is performed by pressing the Super Perception button (Circle for PS5, B for Xbox, Q for PC) right when the Revenge Counter attack is about to connect. Mastering the timing of the Super Counter can allow you to get the upper hand on an opponent who relies too much on the Revenge Counter, but it's also the biggest risk you face when trying to use your own Revenge Counter.
