Updated June 18, 2025 by Christopher Norman Worcester: With the new Unseen Update, Supergiant Games have introduced, among the several new additions, six new Hidden weapons Aspects for players to unlock. As one of the most popular groups of items from the original game, Hidden Aspects have been near the top of fans’ wishlists for quite some time. Now that they are available in Early Access, we’ll explain how to unlock them in this update.
Hades 2 features a group of six weapons for Melnoë to use to complete her task. While the basic version of these five weapons offer a wide range of possibilities when paired with the various boons offered by the gods, there is actually much more for players to explore once they reach an important point in the game. Like its predecessor, Hades 2 includes an entire system of weapon upgrades known as Aspects.

Weapon Aspects in Hades 2 are altered versions of the Nocturnal Arms that were once wielded by a variety of characters other than Melinoë. These Aspects offer totally different effects that can drastically alter the way they perform during runs. This guide will explain the process of unlocking each weapon, and how to reveal and unlock all Aspects of the Nocturnal Arms in Hades 2.
Hades 2 is in Early Access. This means that major sections of the game could change before the official 1.0 release. If any major changes or additions are made to the process of unlocking and revealing the Nocturnal Arms and their Aspects, this guide will be updated accordingly.
How to Unlock All Hidden Aspects in Hades 2
Six Hidden Aspects in Hades 2:
There are currently six Hidden Aspects introduced in Hades 2‘s Unseen Update. They will be listed below in the order they were unlocked. All six of the Hidden Aspects were unlocked by learning a Waking-Phrase and speaking them at the Silver Pool. In Hades 2, each hidden aspect appears to alter a weapon’s base moveset, and adds a special mechainc.
Aspect of Nergal – Moonstone Axe:
We unlocked the Aspect of Nergal by learning the Waking-Phrase from Charon. We were able to learn in the first time we encountered Charon at a shop during our first run after the Unseen Update.

Aspect of Shiva – Black Coat:
Like Zorephet, we unlocked the Waking-Phrase for the Black Coat during out first encounter with Selene after installing the Unseen Update. In this case, you won’t see the special marker over Selene’s head, becasue you only see her boon marker.

Aspect of Hel – Argent Skull:
To unlock the Aspect of Hel for the Argent Skull, you’ll need to speak with Medea in the City of Ephyra. She is the special NPC found in the area, and is always found on the southern side of the city.

Aspect of the Morrigan – Sister Blades:
The Aspect of the Morrigan is the Hidden Aspect for Lim & Oros, the Sister Blades. Meet Artemis during her hunts to unlock. Unlike the previous aspects, it took us several meetings with Artemis for her to unlock the Waking-Phrase.

Aspect of Supay – Umbral Flames:
The Aspect of Supay is the Hidden Aspect for Ygnium, the Umbral Flames. You will learn the Waking-Phrase from Moros near the Fated List. This Hidden Apsect took for longer than any other for us to acquire. We are not sure why that is, but Moros simply would not provide the Waking-Phrase. Finally, after six nights of starting a run and dying, Moros gave it up.

Shadow x1 Marble x15 |

In the original release, Hidden Aspects were a late-game mechanic. As we have been playing Hades 2 since its release into Early Access, we have not yet unlocked Hidden Aspects in Hades 2 from a New Game state, so it is currently difficult to say exactly when in the game they will become available if you are starting from scratch. Our current save file began at 110 nights with all previously released content completed. We’ll update this guide once we know more about unlocking the Hidden Aspects when starting a new game.

How to Reveal Weapon Aspects in Hades 2
Once the player has unlocked each of the Nocturnal Arms, they are ready to begin the process of revealing all Weapon Aspects in Hades 2. The steps to completing this task are as follows:
- Step 1: Attempt a run with each weapon. You do not need to complete a run, simply use each weapon in a run. While it has not been confirmed, it may be wise to attempt to beat Hecate with each weapon, but it does not appear to be necessary, as she was not defeated with the Umbral Flames for this guide, and the process worked.
- Step 2: With all weapons unlocked and used for a run, the next time you face and defeat Hecate, she will unlock an Incantation. This Incantation, known as ‘Aspect of Night and Darkness,’ will now be available at the Cauldron.
- Head to the Cauldron once you return to the Crossroads. Complete the Incantation, then head to the Silver Pool at the Training Grounds to see the complete list of Weapon Aspects.

The Olympic Update filled all weapon slots in the Crossroads, but the game still makes clear that there is a considerable amount of content
still coming to Hades 2. Should any new weapons and weapon aspects become available, we will update this guide to include them.
How to Upgrade Weapons in Hades 2
Remember that each weapon, including all Aspects, can be upgraded in Hades 2. To do this, head to the Silver Pool in the Training Grounds once Aspects have been revealed. When interacting with the pool, players should notice a new tab in the menu that is marked by a heart. Visiting this tab will reveal the upgrade system. Each Aspect will be listed here, along with the requirements for upgrading.
- Aspects of Melinoë will require basic materials, like Silver and Psyche, for upgrading. This is true regardless of which weapon you pick.
- The Aspects that belonged to other characters throughout history will require more rare and unusual materials. Players will notice that these Aspects require Nightmare, and extremely rare material that can only be acquired at the Altar behind the Silver Pool.
Each weapon has five ranks of upgrades, each of which improves a specific portion of a weapon’s skill. These upgrades can help immensely, especially when amplified by the boons offered by the gods.
