The default layout may not be to everyone's liking. Throne and freedom allows players completely remap the controls so they can have a better experience. These can be combined together with changing other settings to improve game performance.
This can also be used by players to assign less used functions to others complex bindings. This, in turn, will free up quick and easy bindings to the most frequently used functions.
How to change keybindings for PC in Throne and Liberty
As expected, players will be able to bind your keys by opening the menu and going to Settings. In the settings, players click on the “Shortcuts” tab. Players will see a list of different types of operations and shortcuts for them. Players will also see little trash can icons that they can use to untie any current shortcuts. To change an existing shortcut, players simply need to click on the currently assigned shortcut. This will allow them to enter a new keybinding to replace it.
How to change console key bindings in Throne and Liberty
Although the game is cross-play and has all the same components for both PC and consoles, the controller bindings are not in the same place as the mouse and keyboard settings. So console players will have to take a different route. Players will open their menu, select Settings, and then go to the Controller tab. Here they will see 2 options under the preset buttons; Default and custom. Players will want to select Custom to open a list of all the game's key bindings. Scroll to the building you want to change and click or X for PlayStation or And for Xbox.
Players will now be able to assign a single button tip, or have an action bound to pressing one button while holding another. If you assign a button or pair of buttons that are already in use, the game will pop up a window indicating which bindings will be removed. Players can accept these changes or cancel them.
Why change key bindings in Throne and Liberty
Some of the default bindings can actually drive some players crazy, and they can end up yelling at things they didn't mean to do. By tying the most intuitive buttons and/or controller settings to the way the player interacts with the game, they can greatly reduce the chances of getting things wrong.
Another reason is that players could play the game better with their personal choice of bindings rather than how most people would prefer the default button layout. Many players wouldn't dream of changing how they activate a designated Dash Morph, while others may feel that this button might serve them better than something else.
