Tips and tricks for playing Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rivals
Squirrel girl is one of the playable duelist characters featured in the Rivals of Marvel. Like other Duelists, she has a means of transportation that allows her to go where other heroes cannot. However, hers is quite limited compared to Iron Man or Stormtrooper, who both have the gift of flight.
Play as a squirrel girl Rivals of Marvel means tormenting other players with explosive acorns. This makes her playstyle something that a Junkrat player from Overwatch 2 might like to try. She can also lock enemies in place to make them sitting ducks.

Why Marvel Rivals is more than just another superhero game
Marvel Rivals may be yet another hero shooter added to an already crowded genre, but it has many unique details that set it apart.
Squirrel Girl Powers in Marvel Rivals
- Squirrel Girl Health: 275 Health
- Squirrel Girl Difficulty: 1 star
- Squirrel Girl Role: Duelist
Squirrel Girl has an incredibly simple set, so it only has 1 star in terms of difficulty. She's a quick learner, quick to pick up, and perfect for new players Rivals of Marvel. Her weapon's splash damage allows her to strike from afar, and players will want to use her tail bounce to gain an advantage over opponents.
The name of the ability |
Ability type |
Description |
---|---|---|
The acorn burst |
Primary attack |
Armed with a slingshot, Squirrel Girl can fire single shots of acorns in a volley that can bounce off surfaces before exploding in splash damage. |
Squirrel blockade |
Activate ability |
Squirrel Girl will pick up a giant acorn and take aim. She can then throw it to immobilize the first enemy hit by it. This puts the enemy completely dependent on Squirrel Girl and her teammates. |
Tail bounce |
Active ability |
Duelists should have high mobility, and Tail Bounce gives Squirrel Girl that little advantage of being able to reach higher places. Players must have a firm understanding of which parts of the map can be used best. Because this will give them optimal bombing tactics. |
Sysun Bond |
Active ability |
Players can reload once they run out of acorns, or they can use this ability to instantly reload their weapon and get a chance to use one of their abilities for free. This means that after using Mammal Bond, they can cast 2 Squirrel Blockades or use an ability that is currently on cooldown if they need it immediately. |
Membranous acorn |
The ability to command |
Squirrel Girl gains an extra ability called Membranous Acorn when one of her teammates plays Spider-Man. Using this ability, Squirrel Girl will spin the sling over her head. You should then throw a projectile that will explode to intercept enemies that fall within the blast radius. This will both damage and immobilize them to make them easier to take down. |
Unsurpassed Squirrel Tsunami |
Ultimate ability |
When used, players will summon an army of squirrels to sweep across the damaged area. What makes things even better is that they will actually ricochet off walls, hitting enemies multiple times. This can be devastating for the opposing team as they try to hold on for a point in the final moments. |
When to use Squirrel Girl's Ultimate
This ability is best used when there are a lot of walls for the squirrels to bounce off of. This will allow them to go wild and hit enemies multiple times. It may take a few games before players figure out when to use her Ultimate, but there are plenty of other characters that are much harder to figure out.
Tips and tricks for playing Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rivals
A great combo for Squirrel Girl once her ultimate is ready is to use her mammal bond to do 2 Squirrel Blocks one after the other and then use her ultimate. This will mean that enemies will be locked in place during the Squirrel Tsunami and will give the player a fully reloaded slingshot to attack at once. Having such a simple set that can interact in any order makes Squirrel one of the most powerful characters in Rivals of Marvel.
Her slingshot also allows her to pick off enemies from behind others, allowing her to take down enemy strategists trying to hide behind their allies – and sometimes taking them both out with a single acorn. Another reason to stay at a distance is due to the Squirrel girl's lack of melee abilities. She shines best as a ranged threat that supports her allies in the thick of the action.
