Marvel Rivals: Venom Hero Guide
Don't be toxic, be poisonous.
Penny Parker is a powerful vanguard that specializes in objective defense and creating a cyber web that restricts opponents' movement while healing and buffing herself. She plays less like a traditional “tank” and more like a trap/support character, dealing consistent mid-range damage while helping your team and hindering enemies.
Penny Parker Review
Penny plays the Vanguard role, which means she has a significant pool of health and multiple ways to help and protect her team. however, she (usually) has no damage reduction or shield abilitiesmeaning your teammates can't rely on you to absorb burst damage or protect them from it. The only exception to this is her Team-Up with Venom, described below.
It's helpful to think of Penny Parker as a setup/defense character from other games, strengthening critical areas of the battlefield and closing bottlenecks. It is this playstyle, along with her large body and health bar, that allows her to protect her team.

Description |
---|---|
Basic Attack: Cyber-Web Cluster |
Penny fires a projectile that deals medium damage with a small blast radius. What it lacks in pure damage it makes up for in infinite ammo and no damage cooldown, allowing Penny to land a finishing blow at any distance. |
Cyber-Web Snare |
Penny fires a beam of webbing – a slow projectile – that briefly immobilizes enemies it hits or creates a cyber web when it hits the environment. Standing further Cyber-Webs will give you a speed boost and heal you if you're injured (or give you a Health Bonus if your health is full). You can have up to three separate cybernets at the same time. |
Bionic spider nest |
Penny creates a spider's nest around her, which will cover the area around it with a cyber web and periodically spawn spider drones. Spider Drones will stalk nearby enemies, exploding and dealing damage to them if they get close enough. The spider nest can be destroyed, so try to place it somewhere out of sight. |
Arachno-Shakhty |
Penny fires a spider mine that sticks to the first surface it hits, arming after a couple of seconds. If the enemy gets close enough, the Arachne Mine will go off, dealing significant damage. A penny can hold up to four Arachne Mine charges, and if more than four are placed on the map, the oldest Arachne Mine will be destroyed. |
Cyber Bond |
Penny removes the thread of the web that creates the cyber web and connects her to it, pulling her to the Cyber-Web and binding her to that place. Penny will be pulled back to the tethered spot if she strays too far, and you can untether at any time. You can use this ability to quickly change position and it can prevent you from putting yourself in harm's way again or away from your team/Cyber-Webs. |
Passive: Wall crawl |
Penny can climb nearby walls, allowing her to gain a better vantage point or escape from less mobile enemies. |
Ultimate: Spider-Sweeper |
Penny increases the power of SP//dr, giving her a significant increase in health and movement speed at all times. While Spider-Sweeper is active, Penny has access to a powerful melee attack that throws enemies into the air, leaves behind a trail of cyber webs, spawns spider drones around it, and can quickly deploy up to seven Arachno-Mines. |
Unification (Venom): Banish armor |
Venom gives Penny a portion of her Symbiote, enhancing her abilities. Penny can activate this command to surround herself with a ball of spikes that greatly reduce her damage and will knock back and damage any enemies that come close to her. |
Penny Parker's game plan is simple: figure out where the next fight is, then give your team an advantage, creating Cyber-Webs and Arachno-Mines to heal yourself and damage your enemies.
When the going gets tough, don't be afraid to use your Cyber-Bond and Wall-Crawl to gain the upper hand – and if your opponents try to follow you, lay some Spider Mines to surprise them.
Recommended commands
Penny Parker and S.P.//dr works best with characters who like to poke from afar, such as Magneto, Namor, Squirrel Girl and Loki. Alternatively, Penny can stay on the facility/capture point, protecting strategists while other team members fight on the front lines.
How to play Penny Parker
The key to playing Penny Parker well know when to start a fight. Since you don't have on-demand defense like Magneto or Doctor Strange (outside of your Team-Up) or great mobility like Hulk or Venom, it is generally not a good idea to chase fleeing enemies or advance aggressively unless you have a Spider-Sweeper ready.
Otherwise, always try to fight next to – or better inside – your cyber webs, as they can give you the healing and movement you need to win.
In addition, your Arachno-Mines can be easily hidden in your Cyber-Weband your Cyber-Bond can compensate for your lack of speed mobility by allowing you to “race” inside your Cyber-Web setup.
When to use Spider-Sweeper
This is your “break the glass in an emergency” option. giving you incredible survivability and greatly improved mobility while allowing you to move forward and configure your cyber networks. You can use Spider-Sweeper to regain advantage after your Spider-Nest has been destroyed, or when you need to quickly reposition your setup to keep up with your team, target, or both.
