How to Manage Vampire Energy and Thirst in The Sims 4

So your sim has recently turned into a vampire The Sims 4. When a Sim becomes a vampire, they go through some major changes, including no longer needing regular food. If this is your first time dealing with a vampire sim, you've come to the right place.

In this guide, we're going to look at how to manage your Vampire Sim's needs in The Sims 4. This will include how they differ from a typical Sim, and how you can meet the needs. Remember, to get the vampire simulator, you need the Vampires game pack.

How are vampire simulators different?

A vampire sim has a few traits in common with a typical human, but there are a few major differences. first of all Your vampire will never use the bathroom again! Toilets are not used by vampires, so you don't have to worry about adding one to a vampire house.

In addition to this, vampires do not have the same energy bar or hunger. Instead Hunger has been replaced with Thirst and Energy has been replaced with Vampire Energy.

The vampire energy meter is at the very top of the screen, occupying the entire section in deep purple. Therefore, it is safe to say that this is one of the most important needs.

Vampires still have needs Hygiene, social and fun!

What drains a vampire's energy?

Vampire energy is it the source of your vampire's powers. It will trickle down very slowly, but for the most part, you will consume this energy when using vampire power. This includes things like revealing faces, turning into a bat or enchanting others.

Another important thing that drains a vampire's energy being in the sun. This is certainly bad. Vampires will start to burn when exposed to the sun; if they are outside too long they will lose energy, and if they are outside too long, they will eventually die.

How do vampires sleep?

A vampire's energy is restored by any sleep or meditate. Instead of sleeping in bed Vampire Sims will need to sleep in a coffin. In Build/Buy mode, you will be able to find several types of coffins to choose from. This functions as a bed for your Sim; your Sims can even Woohoo in one.

When you need a quick burst of vampire energy, your vampire sim can also use the Dark Meditation ability. It will make them think a little, which restores some energy. This isn't the best way to fully fill a Sims vampire's energy bar, but it works as a last resort.

How to quench a vampire's thirst

To satisfy the Thirst, vampires will need to drink plasma. This can be found from three different sources; Plasma Fruits, Plasma Packs, and regular human Sims. One of them is a little more evil than the rest, but let's take a look at all three.

Drink from plasma packets

Plasma packets essentially small packets of artificial blood that a Sim can drink from to avoid drinking from humans. These packs can be purchased from the computer if your Sim is at least level three in the Vampire Lore skill.

Vampires can create their own plasma kits from fish or frogs when they reach the fourth level of Vampire Lore.

Drink plasma from the fruit

Plasma Fruit is the best way to restore thirst if your vampire sim has a green thumb. Vampires can drink plasma directly from these fruits, which only slightly quenches thirst. Just one won't be up to the task, but luckily, Sims can drink several times in a row to satisfy thirst.

You can find a plasma fruit tree in the Forgotten Hollow; a tree grows on a slope that leads to a dead tree. This tree is public, so you can just go to it and collect the fruits.

At eighth level in the Vampire Lore skill, you can buy Plasma Fruit seeds to plant yourself. This is great if your Sim doesn't live in Forgotten Hollow, or if you just want more trees.

Drink from regular Sims

Finally, your vampire sim can drink from normal people. There are several different ways to do this. First, you can ask nicely! If your a vampire is on good terms with another normal Sim, then they can politely ask for a drink.

If the Sim and your vampire don't have a relationship, they might as well get Sim to give them the plasma. You can do this by drinking either a small or large amount of plasma. Drinking large amounts of plasma from another Sim is a a great way to quench your thirst.

What happens when a Sim gets too thirsty?

This is not an ideal option; if a Sim gets too thirsty, their instincts will take over. When this happens, Vampire Sims will become more difficult to control. They can randomly attack Sims and drain their plasma when this happens. If you're going for an evil vampire vibe, it should be fine, but it can ruin a relationship.

While the Vampire Energy bar is visually bigger, Thirst's need is very important. Thirst seems to rule vampires; when it gets too low all other needs will essentially be canceled. Low thirst can provide the following three mudlets.

• It is necessary to feed
• Dry
• Irresistible thirst

When an irresistible thirst is reached, they will start attacking.
