How to get more skill legacy slots in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Any party member, not just the main character, can equip any Archetype, giving players a lot of freedom in building their party in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Each Archetype can be individually leveled up, giving the Archetype new skills or passives to work with in battle.
Although this seems to limit the overall build of each character, skill inheritance allows players to use almost any skill for any Archetype, even if that Archetype would not normally be trained in that skill. Here's how skill inheritance works and how to increase the number of skills you can inherit from an archetype.

Skill Inheritance is done at the Academy and is the second option when talking to More. From there you will need to choose which character and then which of their archetypes you want to inherit. An an inherited skill takes up an additional slotand will not change or remove any normal skills that the Archetype will or already knows.
After choosing which Archetype you wish to transfer the skill to, you will be presented with a list of skills to choose from, each of which will cost a different amount of MAG to inherit based on the skill's power.
Passive skills usually cost more, but can still be inherited.
The list of skills you can choose from is all of them other skills gained by any other Archetype from the same character. This further incentivizes players to try or at least level up other archetypes, as sometimes it can be worth leveling up an archetype to gain one skill that can then be inherited.
- Skills acquired for inheritance do carry over between Archetypes for individual characters.
- Inherited skills can be changed at any time in Akademia.
- Skills only need to be bought once, even if they don't equip and change clothes later.

The number of skills an Archetype can inherit is determined by the Archetype equipped. As you level up with this follower, every few ranks will award an additional skill inheritance slot for the Archetypes of this tree. Each Archetype starts with one skill inheritance slot and can go up to four when the follower reaches max level. This does limit some archetypes more than others because some subs are tied to story progression, like the Gunner, while others can be maxed or leveled up multiple times early in the game.
